SOCOM 3 SOTG Banner Contest
Think you're a good artist? Well, let's see what you got.

Game Stop, Sony and SOTG are sponsoring a contest on our forums, to see who can build the best banner for SOTG to use on our website throughout SOCOM 3.

Contest rules are located at www.sotg.us/Forum

Good Luck!

SOTG Marine

Edit: (Contest Rules)

Special Operations Training Group will need a new banner for the top of our web pages at the start of SOCOM 3. So, in the spirit of friendly competition, we are going to host a contest. The winner will receive SOCOM 3 absolutely free! This competition is sponsored by Game Stop. So all of you fancy artists, if you think you have "signature skillz," this might be your opportunity to make them work for you!

Rules:

To enter, you must be over the age of 17 before September 13, 2005, or must have a parental consent form (www.sotg.us/consentform.doc) filled out and mailed / emailed / faxed to me by that date. Entrants do NOT have to be members of SOTG to participate. Every entrant in this competition is limited to one piece of art, with the following dimentions: All artwork should be submitted at a resolution of at least 72 dots per inch, but no more than 150, with a width of no less than 950 pixels and no more than 1000 pixels, and a height of no less than 200 pixels and no more than 250 pixels. The final product must load quickly enough to be used feasably as a standard banner.

The artwork must contain the following items: The SOTG Logo (defined as the letters SOTG with the Special Operations Command logo instead of the "O" and the M4/203 below the lettering), and the official SOCOM 3 logo / lettering.

Submissions: There is a thread in this forum topic called "Competition Submissions," where you will submit your artwork in the following format:

Real Name:
SOCOM II Name:
Clan:

Submission:

Deadline: All new entries can be submitted until September 5, 2005. The winner will be announced September 10, 2005. All entries can be modified and/or changed until September 5, 2005. After midnight PST on that date, any edits made to the entry post will disqualify the competitor. All submissions in this contest immediately become the property of Special Operations Training Group, for our use or for distrubution as we see fit.

Fees: There are none - this competition is free to enter.

Prizes:

1st Place: SOCOM 3 + Credit line at the base of our web pages with a link to your portfolio / studio.

Runner Up: SOCOM Boonie Hat (If the runner up is a member of SOTG, he or she will receive a complimentary SOTG T-Shirt as an addition to their paid membership dog tag/boonie hat/t-shirt membership package - $20 Value)

Artwork usage: All entrants are authorized to use any artwork found on this Web site and any other royalty-free artwork. Artwork cannot be pirated, and copyrighted artwork cannot be used. Alpha Assassins - The Ace of Spades
Bravo Bandits - Skull wearing a cowboy hat
Charlie Cobras - A Cobra (the snake)
Delta Dawgs - The greek letter (triangle) for Delta, or any sort of vicious dog.

I'll keep 25 bucks and pay for half of Socom 3, than pay to enter a contest, and possibly loose. If you could post all the information here, that'd be great.

Also, does anyone actually register to your forums when you charge them 25 bucks?

What are you all talking about?

The contest is free! and open to non-SOTG.

Why would you think it costs $25 to register on our forums? We don't charge people to register on our forums... lol.

When I clicked the link, it was required that I register. When I clicked register, it required a fee of 25 dollars (unless it was a joke?). I don't know, but thanks for putting up the rules, etc.

I'm sure you only read part of what it had to say there. If you read all the way through, you'll see that you don't have to pay just to register. But perhaps if you were confused - others may be too. Let me know specifically what you saw that made you think you had to pay just to register on the forums please, so I can fix it.

Well it's illegal to give prizes to minors - so you can participate all you want if you don't want me to send you SOCOM 3. But if you want the prize, you're parents will have to accept on your behalf.
