SOTG Marine is a fake?

Hmmm,

I found an interesting topic in your forums called SOTG Recruiting. Please get rid of that topic, by the way, as it is just an eyesore on your forums, as I'm sure this will become as well.

A guy named EyesofTexas claimed that "he did his research," and that I am a fake. I just wanted to clear things up a bit, so please don't erase this topic right away. These were some of his comments:

"BEWARE: NONE OF THIS WAS ACTUALLY DONE. He is a Journalist stationed in Hawaii."

Yes. Currently I am a Combat Correspondent stationed in Hawaii.

"There is not Jungle Warfare Training Center in Japan, it is in friggin Panama."

Incorrect. The Jungle Warfare Training Center is located in the Northern Training Area on the island of Okinawa, Japan. It is also now the home of a (Level C I believe) Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape course.

"There is no indoctrination for Force Recon."

Whoa. - No need for me to clear this up, all Marines (and I think even some fat civilians) know there is an indoctrination for Force Reconnaissance, and if you are a really good swimmer and have the heart to finish what you start, it's really not all that hard.

"Those 2 MOS's are what we call Category B MOS's and his primary MOS (Journalist) doesn't allow the Marine to hold Cat. B MOS's."

He uses the term "we" to imply he's an active duty Marine. I'd like to know what MOS's he has, for one. But yes, 85XX MOS's are "Category B" or "Additional MOS's, and I actually had ALL of them BEFORE I was a journalist, but even if I had been a journalist first, no MOS's are restriced from having "Cat B." MOS's. See, in the Marines, sometimes we have to do a thing called a Lateral Move. Meaning we move from one MOS to another during our enlistment. I used to drive trucks, and hold three MOS's in that field as well (3531, 3533 and 3521). When I went to re-enlist, no spots were available as a truck driver anymore, and since I was was a gifted enough writer, they allowed me to move into this MOS, which has been a blast, by the way, for all you aspiring Marines out there. So yes, I have 6 total MOS's, 5 Additional MOS's, two of them being "Cat. B" MOS's.

"Most of their training manuals and *censored* come from work that another clan did ... "

Never. In fact, most of the clans in existance today have taken the majority of their ideas from ours, as we were one of the very first. There's no question about that.

"... and most of it is my work."

Your work? Who the heck are you?

"He claims to be a combat marine,"

Never. Fortunately, I have not yet been called on thusfar to serve my country in Iraq or Afghanistan for any extended period of time.

It doesn't take much to find my name doing a Yahoo Search, so your investigative skills are seriously lacking if you couldn't find me. My name is Sgt. Joseph A. Lee. I am currently serving on Active Duty as the Sports Editor for the Hawaii Marine newspaper. The last of six military occupational specialties I hold.

Pretty easy to find me, as you can read my work every week at:

http://www.mcbh.usmc.mil (Click on the big picture and you'll be taken to where you can download the current edition of our newspaper.) Simply click on "Sports Section," and you can read everything I write. If you need proof or something, tell me and I'll write you a little encrypted love note in one of my soccer stories.

I'm not exactly sure what EyesofTexas is referring to by me "being a fake," so what I'll do, EyesofTexas, if you have any questions concerning my enlistment as a Marine, or my qualifications, courses or tours of duty, you can call me any time, at 808-257-8837. (I wouldn't mess around with the number, as it is a federal line, but you can call me there any time at work, and I'll gladly fax you over any documents you want.)

As for what we offer and our membership fees. Obviously, you didn't read enough to understand that there are several functional purposes to our NEWLY imposed fee, (which I doubt you were ever in a clan who "all" paid their membership fees and got kicked out," because the fee isn't even due yet. There has only been one person kicked out without "refund" so far, but its a donation, and I'm sorry, but that's life)

1. For the "fee," our members receive black SOTG T-Shirts and a set of personalized, engraved SOTG Dog Tags. One Black tag with our logo, and one colored platoon tag with the laser-engraved logo of their platoon. The overall package is worth more than what we ask for a membership fee, and absolutely no money is put in anyones pocket. Every penny is spent back on merchandise and prizes for the clan. In fact, I am out of pocketing nearly $1,000 for the production of our Shirts and Dog Tags so that they will be ready for disbursement before SOCOM 3 hits the streets. If you want to know how my wife feels about that, you can call her too, she is also an active duty Marine. (80 257-0055. She'll let you know exactly how much money I'm "stealing" from our members. lol.

2. SOTG's SOCOM II members continuing into SOCOM 3 with us will ALL receive an Official SOCOM Boonie Hat, straight from SONY. (And you know what, I saw one of these on EBay going for like $30! damn.)

3. One key purpose of our membership fee is to keep the non-committed and the immature out. So if you are thinking, why pay a fee, I might leave in a month? Then yes, you are right.. dont join. We don't want you anyways. If you are wondering why there are no refunds? Because 1. Our members will be receiving merchandise for their entry, and 2. Because that is our policy, and everyone knows it before they donate.

4. In regards to K-Bar plaques and the SEAL ensignia, nobody really cares where you received your K-Bar plaque, and what you received it for. If I was the manager of Subway, I could give my "Sandwich Artist of the Month" a K-Bar plaque for his hard work, and you would have a problem with this? Go climb a tree. As far as the SEAL ensignia, noone is getting "awarded" the Navy SEAL crest here, and a "challenge coin" holds no special meaning accross the board. The game is called SOCOM US Navy SEALs - If you don't think Navy SEALs merchandise is fitting, then you are about an idiot. It's not too far fetched to attribute the Navy SEAL ensignia with the game, considering it's drawn onto the box. I'm sure if I gave you some official SOCOM US Navy SEALs clothing you'd be the first sporting it, even though SOCOM is an acutal unit. Are you claiming you were attached to SOCOM, and are a US Navy SEAL, just because you're walking around the Entertainment Expo with a SOCOM Boonie Hat on? No, you moron, you're not. You're claiming you like to play a video game called SOCOM: US Navy SEALs.

Don't talk about people behind their backs, EyesofTexas, when you don't know who they are or where they come from. Its not very nice, and I don't appreciate it. I don't know where you get off, but if you want make this personal, you've got my phone number, go ahead and make the call.

SOTG has plenty of friends on the game who know what we are and what we stand for. We don't need to "convince" or "con" members into joining, as dedicated members come onto our site and into our rooms every day, trying to escape immaturity. Anyone who has played with us knows this to be true. Most often, the case with threads like this, where people are bashing SOTG, is that these ARE the immature people on the game of SOCOM every day, and SOTG has probably already kicked the person out or denied their membership based on that fact, and now they are disgruntled and think SOTG is just the worst thing out there. Oh well.

We had issues with two of our members, Fifty and Torpedo, who many of you may know from the several other clans they were kicked out of. They were a very argumentative couple that made a lot of people angry for a lot of reasons. I don't care to go into details about the color and smell of my dirty laundry, but you get the point - it stinks sometimes.

Well I just wanted to say Semper Fi, and I'm glad to see that the past eight years of my life in the Corps has been a sham, and I am just a big ol' fake. For all those wondering, I think I figured out where this guy came from, and why all the animosity. I think he was a part of one of the many clans that are formed by kicked out members or people who were denied entry. Their members probably did nothing but bash SOTG all day, and this guy had to listen to it all. Lol. Now he's pissed at SOTG and he doesn't even know why. Strange - but still funny.

Okay, first of all, I have never seen or been online w/ or around your clan. And I don't want to sound like I know what your clan is all about but you need to get a perspective on things. During that whole post you insulted U.S. citizens as being fat and by the tone of the message you were trying to send, ignorant. Now I'm 14 and I may not know much about your clan, but thats WRONG. Especially when the people you write about and follow are fighting for those fat and ignorant civilians. All of these facts are based on this post. Not anything else. However, I will say that your way of handling things w/ EyesofTexas was right and justified. No matter who's a fake or who's just a pissed off liar, giving him the opportunity to take his problem directly to you is admirable, even though he's probably oh...IN TEXAS and you are in Hawaii but still, very classy and nicely dealt w/ so for that, I commend you. For whatever that is worth.

Well thank you,

And you are right, it was wrong of me to catagorize "civilians" as "fat," but I'll just apoligize rather than change the message and pretend I never said it.

I wouldn't be so proudly serving this country if I didn't like the "fat civilians" that we are protecting and fighting for.

So to all of you that are a bit overweight (a lot of you probably because SOCOM can make a couch potato out of you), I'm not trying to insult you at all, you're just as important as the Mr. Olympians in our society, and statistically twice as smart.

The people in the clan are pretty cool, and the clan its self is just as organized if not more; than Sea Snipers, since they helped SOTG get off the ground (i believe this is correct, marine?). A membership fee is not that big, only 25$ not alot. I encourage mature people to join, if they are commited to the game.

I have been in SOTG sine November. I am now a squad leader for one of the 12 squads we have. It is a great environment. No cheaters, glitchers etc. etc. Also, we have over 150+ (and still recruiting many many more) clanmates/allies so you usually ALWAYS have someone online. Actually, we have a room up in Canada West 1 right now if you wanna check us out.

I still want to know why i got kicked out .

This was before the whole membership fee thing and what not. But i was trying out for sotg, i dont know, like, 3-4 months ago. Mabie less im not sure. I went by the name of SOTG Zero. (I wasnt in the clan yet but was just about to get my 30 hours). I was doing considerably good every time i was in a sotg room. Sometimes EXTREMELY well. That is the reason i got kicked out of there rooms, and wasnt aloud to join there clan. Not to be mean or anything. But i find that pretty immature. Im not saying your a fake or anything and im not saying your clan is bad or what not. But im just saying, why this happened. They just quickly called me a cheater and basicly told me to get out!??!?!?! When i was not doing any kind of glitch or cheat. I lagged a little bit sometimes, but that is all.

Zero, this is probably something you should discuss in our forums, not this one, but here's your answer:

You still have a thread in our New Recruits forum called "SOTG Zero"

As far as we knew, you and your buddy Ares fell off the face of the earth back in March. There was some mysterious event where you apperantly went 21-0 on Foxhunt, and a guy named SOTG Ares was telling us about it on your thread, then both you and Ares were never heard from again.

I don't know who told you that you were "kicked out," but officially, you were never a member of SOTG. You never made it past being a recruit -- you simply dissappeared!

You are welcome to come post on your thread, and pick up where you left off, but if you are under 18, you will need to get our parental consent form signed. I remember your friend, Ares was 15, which is about as young as we will waiver, but yeah, both of you just fell off the face of the planet!

yah we are both 15, but they decided to make the exception since we were good players. But i dont want to join SOTG anymore. But the reason ARES dissapeared is because i was told that i couldnt join and blah blah blah, because i was cheating. And he wasnt going to join without me.

They claimed i could see through walls which was the stupidest thing i ever heard.

Then a few weeks later, i came to one of there rooms and went 21-0 on foxhunt and they kicked me out of there room in a heart beat.

Well that's strange, Zero, because normally these things are documented. You're thread has nothing negative whatsoever posted on it, and I've never heard mention of your name in the officers' forums. So, .. oh well I guess.
