Would it be cool if you were a hostage, so when the seals come to get the hostages, they could give you a gun, and/or you can try and escape from the terrorist, and take their guns, would this be cool?

Not true. A hostage could be a cop, and cops know how to shoot guns. They could be people that hunt or something.

I don't think this is a good idea. Keep it the way it is. Change is good, but not like this type of change.

shooting a gun is pretty easy.. pull the trigger.. (don't get technical with safety, it's a game)

A hostage could be a 5-Star Chef too, that doesn't mean he is going to cook you up a 7 course meal

As for shooting a gun being easy, you are more than wrong. First, holding the weapon and aiming the weapon is the hardest part and then firing. I challenge someone who hasn't fired a weapon before to pick up a pistol and fire it on target. I doubt they could do it with the first few rounds.

But it is easy to learn if properly taught.

To say shooting a gun is easy is absurd. If someone is nerovus of weapons (as many people are), even if they are a hostage they would probably not have the first clue about what to do. Chambering a round, taking off the safety, and then hitting the target.

I don't think the rescue team, would allow a hostage/VIP to have a weapon. The pilot, that was shot down over Bosnia?, some years ago, was resued by a special Marine unit. The pilot had been on the ground, for some days. He had a pistol, and wanted to keep it. One of the Marines, chopped his wrist, and took the pistol. They didn't want anything to happen. But maybe if under heavy fire, they might let him shoot. Still kind of dought it. And I don't think it would work any better in the game.

Yep. Plus the first thing I learned in Non-Combatant Operations was this: Never give a weapon to any prisoner of war or hostage. The one reason was shock of the victim. We didn't want them to have a weapon because they may endanger themselves or us. Even if the POW is an American soldier we are told not to give them a weapon unless absolutely necessary. For this same reason when we did our TRAP training (Tactical Recovery of Aircraft and Personnel)... we were told that if we recovered a downed aviator, to disarm him at the earliest possible convenience.

It is just a safety thing.

I was just about to add the Scott O'Grady TRAP mission by the 24th MEU back in 1995 as a perfect example. But Marble Man was already up on that.

yes it would be cool, too bad you mentioning it isn't going to make it happen. None of these "hey how about this" or "Wouldn't this be cool" are going to make it into the game.
