Well what I would recommend, would be the following (the only problem you will have will be keeping friendly relationships with the participating clans, and convincing some of the clan leaders that the affiliated groups are in fact, good to go):
Instead of this site being just a disorganized sespool for the spreading of rumors, maybe you can make good use out of it, as it will become drastically less popular once the game is released and the eSEALs open up their "official" SOCOM 3 forums.
I noticed somewhere on your list of names, someone has signed onto this forum using my name and my email address (SOTG Marine /
marine@sotg.us) That is not me, and if you would, I would appreciate it if you erase whatever account was fraudulantly created, as well as all posts someone is pretending to make under my name.
What I would recommend, is building a SOCOM 3 community from this site, where the affiliated clans can simply share ideas, post decisions on possible glitches/non glitches, provide SOCOM 3 and next installment Q & A, coordinate wars, share a common password or possibly get involved in intramural leagues and tournaments with one another. If we are organized and professional, we can even work directly with eSEALs on exclusive projects - I will speak with them about this.
www.militarybattles.com is preparing to host a variety of different SOCOM 3 leagues and tournaments, as well as other tourneys for other popular console games, both for SOTG members, and US Marines around the globe (if we are successful).
In SOCOM I, I remember organizing a group called CACA (Clans against Cheating *******s). It was simply a Yahoo community that we would send a mass-email out to all the members when we had a cheater find his way into a CACA, password protected room. This can be done better with a newsletter with the "Password for the week"
When SOCOM II came out, fortunately, we didn't have such a large cheating problem, but there are still some extremely annoying and highly immature clans on the internet.
The problem with forming an allied group, is that some clans are good to go, but don't base their enrollment on maturity level, and have some members that may irritate the skin off of senior members of other affiliated clans - a possible recipe for disaster, but could be resolved by intensive investigation and unanimous decisions for entry.
I was thinking also, of starting an organization called SOTG AFN, Allied Forces Network, to combine and involve some of our allied clans in our activities and gameplay - this would basically replace that, and I'm all for it.
What would be neat, instead, would be if
www.SOCOM3.com was dedicated to hosting the most respected and mature clans in the game, and we could turn affiliation with
www.SOCOM3.com into a "Seal of Approval," of sorts, that lets everyone know that the clan is on the "up and up," sort of like the Better Business Bureou or the BAR or AMA.
Being a "SOCOM3 Clan" can be turned into a status symbol. It will be hard to convince Rator of the Sea Snipers, as they are a very much separated group and don't afflilate very easily, but I will talk with him personally on this, and I'll see what we can do.
If we start it out strong with clans like FSSF, the Wolfhounds, CDK, SOTG and SS, not to mention plenty of others I can think of, it will become something every clan will want to be a part of.
In order to be accepted as a SOCOM3 clan, though, the clan would have to be unanimously voted in by every single affiliated clan. Once established,
www.MilitaryBattles.com could surely support SOCOM3 clan leagues and tournaments, as SOTG would be glad to host mature groups of individuals.
This may flip the trend from rumors and outlandish weapons restrictions, started by GameBattles, becoming the norm, and instead let gamers come to the clans who actually know **** from shinole, rather than Gamebattles, who single-handedly destroyed the fun of SOCOM II online play.
If you want to organize something like this, I will support you 100%
