Please, if ASF shall ever apply, deny them. They are a disrespectful group of people that ruin the "Military Structure" clan name.

Otter, your clan was the first one listed - silly ***.

Radio - No need to brief SOTG - I am the leader and founder of Special Operations Training Group

Anyways, like DaKilla was saying, the site designers need to discuss the specifics and legalities before anything is done, and creating this sort of group without the support of the Sea Snipers would just be a shame, so we should definately try to get support from Rator first. And perhaps affiliation should be by invite only? I can't imagine really how a clan will be that prominant without our currently affiliated clans knowing about them, you know what I mean?

But when we do begin this process, basically all that will be needed is to change the wording around on the home page of this website to indicate something to the affect of www.SOCOM3.com is a SOCOM 3 Clan Resource supported by the most prominent, well-known and well-organised SOCOM clans on the internet. The panel of www.SOCOM3.com representatives are leaders from each of the Official SOCOM 3 Clans, and meet once per month to collectively evaluate possible glitches in SOCOM 3, answer questions from the SOCOM general public by contacting Zipper and Sony directly, and providing the SOCOM 3 community with Maps, whiteboards and other resources brought into the community by members of the SOCOM3 panel. Being an "Official SOCOM3.com Clan" means that your clan meets the high standards of conduct and maturity to be a part of this elite community. Your Clan Leader will earn a seat on the www.SOCOM3.com panel, your clan will be invited to attend exclusive SOCOM 3 tournaments and events, and your clan will be on the forefront of future SOCOM projects, allowing your voice to be heard by Sony and Zipper themselves. Being an affilaited www.SOCOM3.com clan is not easy, and your clan is expected to adhere to a series of basic principles. As well, your status as an official www.SOCOM3.com clan will be reviewed monthly,.... blah blah blah'

I'm thinking perhaps you should keep the PHPBB forums, and the same theme, but put it all inside a PHP Nuke System, so that news, affiliated clans, and a whole lot of other information can be available to everyone, as well as the forums. I can build that for you, to mimic the look of www.militarybattles.com only with the current theme you guys have here. I can build it with a league script, so the affiliated clans can participate in a league together, but I think we should stay away from a ladder, as there is already a ladder on the SOCOM 3 game.

Or, instead, we can just utilize each other's already built resources, and the league can simply take place at www.militarybattles.com or at any one of our other affiliated friends' websites that already run leagues of their own. This is the type of stuff we need to discuss.

I totally agree about discussing legalities, etc, before starting anything. Plus, the most important part would be talking to the actual site owner, veins of ice, which I will take upon myself as one of his sole contacts. :D

And we really do need to get support from as many high profile clans and players as possible before even opening up to the public, since it would be much easier to attract people with big names. Sea Snipers - definitely.

Invite only? Sure. That's just one detail we need to get fleshed out, but I suspect that we only need to get that done after we make a basis for this entire project. It could be a thing that the "founding clans" decide on, like the first council [panel] to be held.

Your edited text for the main site looks good, and as you already implied, could be added onto with more information about the clans, panel, and overall website. And I've always been fond of PHP Nuke, but have never used it extensively, so I'd really have to talk to veins about that one.

One decision I would really like to make immediately, though, is that no official ladder or league be held at this site. I don't want that to be the direct angle of approach for our members. We want to keep this an entirely friendly environment with no real competition in order to sustain our "neutral" look for all clans that may want to be part of this. Having just one mistake in a league can cost an image like that, and while I know that nobody would do it purposefully, we're only human. And, as you said, affiliated sites would already be running leagues, and I wouldn't want to interfere with what's already a successful business.

Very good call about no "official" ladder or league. www.militarybattles will offer leagues as we see fit, but I think you are right, that the site should not be a competition-based site at all, but more of a source for professional blessing, affiliation and information pertaining to SOCOM.

I like the invite only approach.

Erg, I don't think that a couple of new forums would cut it. What we would need in order to do this effectively is a radically different website. The forums would stay more or less the same, but we would need a new system to register clans and things like that.

I think a Nuke-Based site would really be perfect, actually, as it would be mainly used to track clans, offer information / answer questions. Unfortunately, I can't really do any work towards building it without access to the MySQL databases, but another idea, perhaps, is that I could host - if that's the only way to get rid of the ads - cause to be honest, they are pretty annoying, and really unneccissary.

i was just thinking with veins' interests in mind. he previously said he didnt want to add any more software to the website, when i proposed the clan ladder.

Maybe im thinking kind of straight forward. but we COULD have a sticky in a new forum, listing all the affiliated clans. have any updates in the announcements forum of the the section.

but if veins is up for new software and sh!t like that...then im all for it

Really you can do whatever you want. It can be as simple as just some additional text on the front page and a thread listing the affiliated clans, or you can do it up Nuke-Style, so that news items can be posted for visitors to prominantly see, as well, the listing of affiliated clans - directions on becoming an affiliated member, etc., all while still keeping your exact same forums, with the same skin and everything. If you've ever worked with PHP Nuke, it's remarkably simple and for a project like you were suggesting, it would fit this site perfectly. You can even put a donations block, another suggestion that was made in another thread.

Like I said, I can build it for you if you guys don't know how, or don't want to, I would just need the proper access to FTP / MySQL. Veins will have to decide on all that. Let me know if you guys want to do this, cause I don't really want to be a part of it if it's gonna be done half-assed.

Don't worry about the half-assed part. Nobody here wants to be embarrassed by some piece of **** with our name on it.
