I don't remember it saying anything about flying helecopters... ya'll must have just misunderstood.

And there are 22 maps on SOCOM 2 (10from SOCOM 1).

i can't believe, 32 players at one time.

if 16 lags like hell imagine 32 with vehicles.. unless they use that god awful fog in every map to hide everything..

Then maybe you should try reading the article istead of skimming it yes?

****ing morons. Did you read the part about being able to turn them off? Guess not....overreacting a little. YOU CAN TURN THEM OFF!

To counter lag, maps are 6x bigger, and maybe the vehicles are a turn off, but now the set up of online and clans and everything is SO amazing....damn, they did a fine job.

WOW!!! This game is going to be amazing!!!!!!!!! Everything I read in there got me exicted. The thing I liked the most was the Land Battle video. It looked like a battle. Socom II doesnt really look like a battle, it looks dull. Im going to reserve my copy right now...

That is not the point of it though. It is US Navy SEALs. It doesn't matter if you can turn them on or off or hump the wheel... it is still getting into the world of Halo realism.

Why would I want to search all through different servers to find a room that has them off? I guarentee you that 99% of the people who are going to get SOCOM 3 are going to go straight for the vehicle's.

You are such a n00b... They specialize in jumping out of planes in the air... not piloting air vehicles... Stop thinking that because you watched the SOCOM 1 SEALS documentary that you know everything about it.
Yah they dont pilot them, they do the HALO jumps out of the herculies(sp?) jets, and they jump out of the cargo heli's into the water. I believe they can drive Humvees but not too sure. i doubt it cause they mostly infiltrate the area from a stealthy position which is usually water or air.

The article stated that Zipper was upgrading all of their efforts from Socom 2. This must mean that they will have upgraded their servers. I will not be surprised if the lag is pretty much resolved (I know it is a big hope).

I am all for paying a few dollars a month in order to maintain a high quality, dedicated server so that Socom 3 does not have the same type of lag issues that Socom 2 currently has.

I also am a BIG fan (after reading this article numerous times) of the ability to "customize" the maps. I am hoping that we will the ability to change day vs. night, clear vs. snow/rain/wind/etc., high grass vs. low grass, in addition to the previously mentioned ability to turn off the vehicles. I think Zipper is really in line to release an AMAZING game!
