Anyway...hopefully the rank system will be more cheat proof in S3. There will always be cheaters, but hopefully we can at least get a somewhat legit system so that rank will be more meaningful.

People care about a ranking system because it gives you some idea on how good you are, the ranking system on socom has loopholes so of course "rank doesnt matter". A legit ranking system is all we want, even the original ranking system that was based on only your opponents rank is better than what we have.
Were not going to get anything close to decent until probably Xbox360/Ps3 and we might even need faster connections on average. Theres no way the current Ps2 could handle server/console interactions after every kill to determine the two players stats/kill ratio/win ratio/current stats and all the other BS to actually figure out how many rank points you should receive for killing them).. especially when their not hosting the servers and depending on us with weak connections to do it. If the original Xbox is the "poor man's computer"(700mhz, 64mb ram), then the PS2 should be in ur attic at this point.
Im gonna refuse to pay anything to play socom3 online at this point because theres nothing they can do with the current hardware to make it worthwhile.

P.S. Like i said before, all of those "client side checks" like half life 2 has will not be happening until atleast socom 3. They cant make a patch small enough for us to download to make that possible, we cant even download maps(Which Zipper said they don't have the capability to do with the PS2) so why would any of you expect a major change like this?
