My personal opinion is that new music has no substance. No substance as being that it has no real meaning to it (or even just a positive meaning). The music also has no musical substance too. I’m so sick of hearing the same beats over and over again. People sampling other peoples songs cause that can’t right the music themselves.

Sidewinder said he doesn’t like Prince. I can honestly say that Prince is a great musician with a great ability to write songs.

I also hate people that stereotype music into categories. Punk isn’t a type of music. It is a state of mind, A state of rebellion to the way things where before. The state of mine of not giving a care about anything. You know what, NFG cares…That’s why there not puck. They care about the dollar, and their fans and what not. Sex Pistols didn’t give a crap about anything. Sid busted a fan over the head with his bass in a London concert. I can classify that as not giving a ****.

I agree with the previous people who said Sex Pistols, etc. are punk, but that genre of music has changed since then...

Now, bands such as NFG, Green Day, GC, Sum 41, Blink 182, etc. are considered punk rock.

I despise all punk rock bands, and agree with Nirvana freak. All punk rock singers sound like they're 11...You could switch the singers around in the few bands I listed, and not tell the difference.

I also despise all rap. I have an opened mind, and used to listen to rap songs that people said were "true" music. It all failed. I would get smarter beating myself than listening to rap.

If you must know what type of music I mainly listen to (I'm sure I'll get some "ugh" posts on this one), that would be Metal, with my favorite band being Slipknot (who I recently saw live on their subliminal Verses Tour...April 12th! w00t!).

Poeple constantly say metal is nothing but screaming, but if they would take their head out of their *** for more than a minute, they could listen to a few songs.

I tend to like some of what Blink 182 puts out and a little green day (which is being overplayed now)... But I love sum 41, dont know why but I love their album "Chuck" or something.

And steve is right on what people think of metal, just last night my mom was telling me that all metal is, is yelling. So, I started singing the song and told her if I could sing that meant i could hear the words... thus they were not just screaming!
