Will online Gameplay cost Money?
I am hoping that online gameplay does not cost money, i would simply boycott the item if it is pay to play, And socom is right now my favourite game for the Ps2! I am extremely hopin that they do not make it Pay to play for online play! N e body kno if it is goin to cost money btw?(online play)

I posted this elsewhere in the forum, Just my reaction on the idea of a pay service

NEVER EVER START PAYING!!!!!!!!! If you think that paying for the SOCOM will increase customer service you are wrong, if you think paying will stop people from cheating, you are wrong. The only thing paying does is increase profits.

To date I have spent, $200 for my ps2, $65.00 for Socom 2, 3 x $50 for USB Headsets,( friken things break all the time), $120.00 for the HDD ( which came with FF, which I have never played), $30.00 for the three new maps, A grand Total of $565.00 and counting. I think thats enough, It scares me to think that I'd have to add $xx per month to play online. Now assuming that not everyone has spent what I have , lets use a smaller figure for my point, on any given night there is 30,000 people on line, and if each person on avg has spent say $400.00, then Sony and whomever else has their hand in the pot is profiting off us, has made $12,000,000.00 Not Bad eh. Now lets assuming, as in all TECH sectors that the mark up on the systems is ubsurd, ie: the game disc cost pennies to make but are sold for $60-80, I think that the profits are already there for us to not pay anymore $$ but expect a higher level of online play.

Alas the reality is that eventually we will have to pay for the online aspect, but we should fight that for aslong as possible, as I am sure you all know, once we start paying it will never end

So far no information about online has been released, but I highly doubt it'll be pay to play.
