I herd that the maps on socom 3 were much bigger than the ones on socom2. an we need the hard drive to beable to play the new maps on socom2. So will we need the hard drive to play the maps on socom3??

they havent said anything to that affect so id say no, safe bet there.....buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.... i would almost gaurantee they will add new maps like last time for it later on, now thats a defenite possibility there :D
Srry but i would give a big NO! lol :P you will not need a hard drive for it unless they make a specail memory card for it because the PS2 Slim wouldnt be able to play it you know witch would suck for a few ppl in my clan who use it. so no it will not need a hard drive :P (i just like the idea of making the game 2 cd's so u can make your own maps so it will come with a specail memory card :D and you can dload the map right off them but then it would be 2x laggier so me no want it lol :P)

I agree, Harddrive for requirement to play will be bs. I believe the ps2 hdd is a waste of money unless you just love final fantasy.

HDD.....man, I can't even find one of those. I know that you can but the PS2 formatted ones for $99 which includes Final Fantasy (boring) and the Network Adaptor. I wanna find one that is just an HDD....like buy a regular one and just format it (even though it would take some work). I have the disc with the 3 maps and the Save Game file (which I like), but like I said....no HDD lol.
The only reason Socom2 needed the HDD for the new maps is because they werent on the Disc... being on the disc now... i highly doubt they would need the hdd... and if socom 3 does have 2 discs itll be the first time since compression ive seen a game with more than one disc
If anyone knows where to buy a hdd I wanna know asap because the linux kit is no longer sold in North America that contained the hdd, keyboard, Network adaptor,etc...
So if you know where I can find one without buying anything else tell me.
