What about the Terrorists? (online)

I posted some of these thoughts in another thread but it really deserves it's own topic. Since everyone seems so concerned about the Seals and what not, I'm curious to know what about the Terrorists?

Hopefully Socom 3 is a little bit more balanced and the Terrorists have an equal chance of winning, unlike now. Everyone knows that Seals are the real rankup in Socom 2, and I think it's evidenced that most players like Seals because of this fact... simply because every post on this Socom 3 forum deals with the Seals. I know the game is called Socom: US Navy Seals, but Terrorists are half of the online game. Personally I'm one of those guys that never even played the Socom 1 or 2 single player, I'm strictly an online type of guy... so to me its like they haven't even shown 50% of the game.

I'm a little worried that Zipper might even ruin online play in an attempt to make the single player better and cooler by giving the Seals all this neat, powerful stuff.. I think thats kind of what happened in Socom 2... and they tried to make up for it in online play by giving Terrorists the defensive side.. (which didn't make up for the Seals ultra powerful weapons) and if that's the case again... everyone will want to play on the Seals side again, and it may even be worse than it is now.

BTW they compound this basic problem by having RANK in the game which is the worst idea ever, because now it actually matters if your on Seals or Terrorists because it 'matters' (only to ppl who care about rank, ie 95% of players) if you win or lose. If there was no rank and it was uneven, at least you could play Terrorists for fun and not worry about it, but it will probably be like it is now.. everyone will want to be Seals for the advantage and the simple fact that they will probably win and their retarded rank will go up... (not like it even matters)

(Next time you play, notice how the majority of time, the majority of Captains are on the Seals side)

Players will make up for this in online play by making certain attachments and what not 'noob guns' in a minimal amount of time I'm sure. But I'm sick of hearing about noob guns and Socom 3 may just be even worse. Instead of no 203s or IWs, your gonna have people complaining about certain attachments and stuff. I was honestly hoping that in this new game they could fix that aspect.. make both sides equal.. but from what I've seen so far it doesn't look like it's happening.. I was hoping they'd remove all the BS but it doesn't look like it...

I'm putting my money on the table now and saying I bet Seals have the advantage online again...

Anyway, bottom line here is whats news on the Terrorist side? What sweet stuff are they going to have to equal the odds a little bit? I just wish they'd remove rank and at least make the damn guns more even.

I like Terrorists. To dominate somebody (elite or not) with a 47 gives me a sense of pride only online death could give me. I guess it is more of a challenge. I see what you mean. Nice, evenly matched weapons would be nice. But remember Seals never lose in real life. So I guess Terrorists are always destined to lose on the game as well. I would like to see it more even though since it is basically shoot em up with very little tactics.

If they would make the AK a more faster fire-rate weapon, that is just about all the terrorist would need. You know if they are going to give SEALs attachments that they would either do the same or something somewhat equal for the terrorist.

Personally, I feel that the terrorist side is at a disadvantage when you are playing equal people but everything relys on the players skills. I also find it more interesting to play at a disadvatage. The more people there are after you, the more suspensful and adreneline pumping activity there is your way. I like that :D

I really dont feel the weapons are uneven, anyway I kind of hope they take out the ranking system, though it dosent happen so much in the EU that all the captains go over to terrors. On maps like xroads and desert glory and most other maps i love being terrorist not because they have the disadvatange i just like terrors better. Some maps the better silenced weapon comes in handy, though i couldnt see terrorists using a silenced weapon at all/

Well, Seals have, and will die, in real life. Doesn't happen often, but it does. Luckly most of the bad guys go down first. But they do it a lot different in real life, than in the game. In the game, they have to make it "fair". I'm with Al, I'd like to see what they have planed for the Terrorist. I hope they don't get to carried away, with the goodies, on each side.
Al, I hope they do the movie, as well as the book!

Just give the Seals and the Terrorists the exact same guns online. THen nobody can complain about guns, cause they have them. They can't say, "Way to use the IW noobs." Cause they will have it, it would make it so much easier.

Why give terrorists a bunch of US Special Forces weapons?

well alot of the maps give seals and terrorists even weapons...its the players that make it uneven. if you use it properly RPG's could just be as deadly as M203's. on maps like rats nest. seals use ATs, but terr's dont use GL's why? cuz their "Cheap"

In general, I like to play as a Terrorist.

Some maps, however, I be a SEAL, because I love the starting points, and how the battles are usually set up.

On Desert Glory, I love being both sides. I'll be a SEAL because of the level set up, but not go blazing out with an IW in one hand, with grenades in the other.

They should find out ways to even out the teams, and give Terrorists little "goodies" that the SEALs don't have.

You know maybe they should give the Terrorists some full auto M-16's. That would even it up.
