If your surround sound system suports it, use an optical cable to connect your ps2 directly to your stereo. The results are unbelievable. :D

How do you connect it with an optical cable? I've never seen anything like that in Best Buy or Circuit City. I have the monster cable s-video wires with RCAs on them, I thought these are the best out there.

I have an optical cable connected to mine...To be honest I have no clue what it did/didn't do..I just seen I could do it, and did it...Anyways AL there is a small flap on the back of the PS2...Lift that little flap, plug in the optical cable, then run it to the receiver..It is just one small cable..Then I have the Big Blue S video cable going from the PS2, to the TV...

Poke, optical is full surround sound. Cool. So I stand corrected, I didn't think PS2 supported that! Wow, now I'm happy cause I can hook it up like that. If you have it hooked up via optical and the helicopter is behind you, it should sound like that.

Cool...I thought that mine didn't seem to be the exact same thing from back to front...Didn't know that was what the optical was for honestly..I just figured, I got it, might as well use it...

Though remember as soon as you get the optical cable You must set it up the settings on your PS2, reciever, and the option menu on the video game, you'll notice it when you go to opitons on socom 2 (any other game also compatible with Dolby Sorround 5.1 or Dolby Pro Logic 2)therefor it will be either stereo, mono, or Pro Logic 2.
