What's a "noob cannon"

I'm getting sick and tired of fools calling every good weapon a "noob cannon". Get over it people!!! They are in the game, thus, people will use them. I'm only metioning this because I was a Terr. on a recent game I played. The SEALS were mainly using IW's and M60/M63's. Most of my team kept getting on the com. saying things like "that's so g a y", or "what a newbie". Why do these idiots feel they must share their feelings to the rest of us by holding down the Cirlce button as they whine? So for the benefit of everyone here, I have decided to make a list of each weapon I have heard complaints about as well as the reasons why the complaints arise.

IW-80 = NOOB: Too accurate, too stable, fire rate too high.

M63 = NOOB: Too many rounds before reload.

M60 = NOOB: Read above

M14 = NOOB: Too good at close range

M3 = NOOB: Automatic shotgun ... need I say more?

M16 = NOOB: It may only fire 3 shots per bursts but they hurt so much

Frag Grenades in 2 slots = NOOB: Opponents can run but they can't hide!

Mines in 2 slots = NOOB: Many SEALS don't look for them (but that's the terrorists fault )

The next two I'm not sure what the name is because they aren't available in the level I usually play _ Desert Glory.

The Granade Launcher = NOOB: Worse than the Frag Grenades in 2 slots.

The Machine Gun/Rocket Launcher = NOOB: Look how many people Tony Montana killed with it before he was finally shot FROM BEHIND!

Pistols Only:
SEAL = SP10: Just plain better than any other pistol the SEALS have

Terr.= DE.50: Nearly the same result as when used by CJ on GTA: San Andreas

Terr. = (Unsure of name) The fully automatic pistol: Tee-hee...

If anybody calls you a n00b for using a gun, ask them why. If they give a reason to it, tell them isnt it kinda the point to kill the other guy before you? I mean i was playing one day and i yelled at a guy using the M203, mym mom walks in and asks what im yellign about. I tell her and she said that is stupid, if he is killing more people with it, everybody should use it. SO I say, if a gun kills people, then use it.

i never call anyone a noob really,if he/she uses an iw80 rpg or m203,i dont find it as a sdisadvantage,but.................as a challenge,like gives me more then enough reasons not to play with the enemy but just to put em down faster.Just a little more of a challenge for me,like if taht player didnt use a NOOB CANNON and picked up like an m14,they would not stand a chance,so its just a challenge for me.

and i wonder if anyone ever accused the 9mm sub or the 552 to be a nOOB gun,if anyone ver called 552 a noob gun,man.....................SOCOM would be sooo unfun.

Hey, try to keep it in one post :)

I personally feel the IW and the M14 are very broken guns. They depart quickly from the actuality of the weapons. The M14 is THE best gun, but it is a cheap gun. It does need some power taken away. The IW? That is a bit too accurate for its power.

lmao....apparently shes not played on nightstalker where atleast 4 or 5 use them and kill you before you get 3 feet from your spawn huh????!!!?


ah leter sit down a few hours a day and have that happen shell change her point of view :P

only a few guns bother me and this is on the lack of skill needed to use them effectively.if you use them its all good just makes you look bad and takes away any right you had to actually feel good about having 10 kills or more.

those aree the only ones i feel take the least skill to use.yeah the 60 has almost and endless clip but honestly its not like you die from a 60 that often, 9 out of 10 times youll kill him before he really harms you.but like i said my views.use what you gotta use but once again dont brag when your 19-4 with an IW or any of the weps i included there.the games been out forever youd think ppl would get tired of certain weps by now but the fact they kill easy is why ppl resort to them.if you want the noob argument to stop then just say "yes i picked (insert on of the choices here of the weps i listed above) because im sucking right now and wanted a wep that i know is easy to kill with" just be honest and dont start gettin mad, then we will shut up. i just like to atleast here you suck is why you use it cause if you cant see the mere advantages in them and play it off your a moron.


if i hear "its i the game use whatever you want you paid for it" again i will seriously gag. i mean i could rob a bank in real life right???.....but i dont becuase its morally WRONG.....get my point, its about respect.i am respectful which is why i never use the weps listed above...unless i get lucky enough to strip some poor dead helpless seal body of the coveted IW

There are a few guns I have a real problem with:

The M79/203's basically the grenade launcher.
The M60's inc. the m63.
The IW80.

I feel that when people use these guns it does not become enjoyable to play. Though I feel the worst case is when you are having a good game, maybe your winning 5 - 4 and its last round, so they all pull out IWs to guarantee the win.

On the european servers it is a general rule that you do not use the nade launchers of m60s. You will very often be voted off if you do. IW80 will quite often get you voted out. Though I would much rather be against an m60 than an IW, especially after the patch. The M3 is considered a noob gun by some, but I dont care about it, I think you need to be tactical to use it well, and because its so short range its not great for charging.

The m14 is never considered a noob gun, I did not even think this could happen till I came to these forums.

Really, I might go "D@MN IDUB" when I die, but I really don't make it as an excuse. It's not really the IW that I get mad at, it's the PEOPLE that use the IW. I mean, the IW DOES kill, and that is the object of the game, but when a guy is going "Man I OWNED all of you, you guys suck" and he's using an IW and won't switch off of Seals side, THAT'S what gets me mad. Because when he does, he goes 2-11 and aborts the game before the game is over.

Actually, it's just arrogant players.

a person who consideres a wheapon choice a noob, is to my opinion, projetcing his incapacity to counter fight the considerd wheapon.

in Europe, some of us do the whole game, all wheapons, and all maps. it's the most balanced finally.

if it's grenade lanching, we find distance shots, care a lot of a covered position. I usally reply by sniping on maps full of lanchers, and it works.

and for all circomtances, I feel there is an adapted reponse.

it's when you ban ellements, that it's not balanced, because the game was'nt developped for that.

I dont know what server your on in europe but you dont get that very often at all in the uk servers. :?
