I just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday and of course give my opinion about Thanksgiving. I'll be brief..
1) Nobody should ever need a specific "day" to give thanks. Every single day you wake up is a reason to give thanks. Granted it is a great opportunity to be with family and all that stuff, but to physically say "I give thanks for blah blah blah" is pretty lame (unless of course there are kids involved and you want to make them learn to appreciate what they have and all that stuff)
2) Thanksgiving is a typical "white man" holiday. Pilgrims come to what was a new world for them but infact it wasn't all that new. There were these people called Indians here FIRST. Long story short, we kicked their asses out of THEIR LAND, slaughtered millions, and built strip malls and factories to put blinking lights in the heels of our sneakers.. If you are going to be truly thankful on this day, you better thank all the Indian blood in "our" soil helping our genetically altered crops flourish.
Please don't take what I said as anti-american or any of those things. I am the epitomy of America - a middle aged overweight hardworker. But one thing is for sure - I will never succumb to the pressures of certain "holidays" just because we are told to.
Feel free to flame me now. Just remember........I'm not wrong
