Crossroads ONLY?

What's with all these people who play Crossroads and nothing but?

I've been in several clans and every one has had that guy who has a great rank, good skills, but doesn't know any map other than XR...

Now whats up with that...? I mean is it really that fun..? I mean its a good map but geez, those of you who do that, really need to experience some other maps. And how do you get started on playing only Crossroads? Why not Desert Glory?

Am I crazy or have other people noticed the same thing?

Im kinda new to socom, and i havnt really seen this. I am a person that can stay in cross roads for several hours straight but i also play other maps!

I'm probably the one guy in the entire game that doesn't like the map. If there's 8 people playing then you'll know that there will be one guy going a certain direction. You really can't identify a player by their form in this map. It almost directs you where to go. It makes you "color inside the lines", rather then "freehand draw", which is what I prefer to do.

My 2 fav maps are sandstorm and xroads, both of which i can play for hours without gettin bored. i also like frostfire, enowapi, and vigilance. all as seals. i like bein seals even if i get my @$$ kicked in enowapi!

Kinda like people who only play with the idub?

I have warred against clans who wanted DG seals, then our map, then DG terr, then our map, then tie...Limiting themselves only to one map...I dunno why people do it....no clue. They probably p00n in that map...and dont wanna look bad anywhere else... I dunno im kinda rambling and not making much sence....

I really like that map.....but I do love playing other "less played" maps a lot more such as Chain Reaction, Night Stalker, Death Trap, Sandstorm, etc.

X-raods is a good map just to chill out and play some socom in if you have a crappy night, because I can usually get 10+ kills easily per game, so if I wanna pad my stats (after a bad night) I'll sit in there a while.

But there is only so much I can take of that map. It's just a grenade fest the first 2 minutes.

There no doubt about it. It is a very very good map, I love it, though it is being overplayed harshly.
What makes it such a good map is it is so fair. The terrorists and seals have exactly equal chance of winning.
But there are many other maps that are like this and they need to be played more. Such as: Abandoned, Shadow Falls, Night Stalker, Desert Glory (still overplayed,IMO a better map than XR, and less played than it) and there are many more maps better and just as equal as XR.

Call me weird but I would rather play Enowapi Seals, than XR at the moment because of how overplayed it is.

i read the first post and was about to type same thing about the idub, but glad i scrolled down. yes i notice same thing but if thats there thing its all good. theres only 2 maps i actually hate on the game and its chain reaction and frostfire(although i love wearin my yellow "members only" yaghting club jacket

). besides those 2 i dont mind playin many of the others. now every once in awhile ill go into a crossroads/dg/vig room which is nice, atleast its 3 maps to switch between so it doesnt get borin but i havent been in a strait room of 1 certain map in a loooong time.

X-roads is the only map which i really have no strategy for. I really just wing it and it usually works. I have a few spots where I go sure, just your plan can easlily go wrong with a blown bridge or a sniper down your route. It's not my favorite map but it's definetley a good one. If your new to the game that's the map to start out with. This is why a lot of people play it, it's not big like enowapi and it is the most even map in socom.

Crossroads is just he most popular and the most fair...i prefer DG myself.
