there is a Phone # that comes with your Ethernet Adaptor, In the little book that comes with the packaging. If you bought your PS2 with the EA already in it then you should have paper work in the box,

You should look in the instruction manual. In the front flap it has the service number's and stuff it should help a lot.

I had the same problem when I tried to create a second username, let me know if you find a solution.

Maybe its ...illegal...kinda thing, like maybe if they have them, a staff that lgs on to socom2 sometime and has reserved that name or has it, and you wont be allowed to make it because they have it. Like maybe try your name as a cuss word, and see if it says the same thing, maybe thats it then.
