Rank would matter if their werent rank up rooms, people think their better than everyone because of a # now which is a joke. Rank doesnt matter in Socom, what matters is your kill/death ratio during a game and even sometimes that isnt even legit.
yes, rank matters. when i play captains only rooms i can tell the difference in how good the players are. i think the symbol next to your name matters more. no one is trying to achieve a high number rank but everyone wants a cookie next to their name
My goal was just to get my wings to prove I can do it. What makes it better is that I did it by playing my a$$ off. Video games have a point to playing them....you play to win and be the best you can.
I think you get more respect when you have your wings too. I get asked to be in clans without even knowing how I play. I still have games where I go 4-9 or even 2-10. I still panic when someone comes around the corner. I start shooting everywhere at their feet straight up in the air runnin around in circles. Luckily i have more better days though.
yea i play for fun but it is good to know that the kills you get in a game count for something unlike in S1 where everything you did was useless in everyway possible....God i hed that so yea i do play for the rank as well as for fun

I don't think Rank matters but its a good thing to be a high rank. Its all a matter of skill rather than high Ranks. You can be a Ensign and be like wicked good. :P
