Sniping and the skill involved...

Ok- honestly, I have been told by 3 people today that sniping is the cheapest thing to do in the game and it takes no skill. These kinds of people just make me want to TK them every round with my sniper when they least expect it...

Sniping is the most skillful aspect of the game. Almost all of the top players are snipers, hence why they get a lot of kills. If you're a good sniper, you are a force to be reckoned with on SOCOM II.

What do you guys think about the skill involved in sniping?

wow. i spent probably a week or two in socom1 learning to snipe. its easy to hit someone standing still, and thats probably what those fools were talking about. to hit someone running full speed directly across your path is much harder than it looks. i went back to socom1 for an hour or so a month ago and i sniped for about 4 games and i didnt miss once. i think once your good at it, it seems easier but to say that it requires no skill is just ignorant.

sniping is hard as hell, I admit it....Im a decent sniper (by no means good...but decent)...I give mad props to people who get 10+ kills per game by sniping only.

The only things that pisses me off about sniping (well not sniping really, just more what the level has turned into) is Foxhunt, everyone and their mother is a sniper on that level, guess that's why I never play it anymore....it used to be one of my favorites...I mean how can your team expect to win when everyone except you snipes (especially since half the people who snipe on your team can't hit a dang thing).

Sniping takes time and alot of school.

It is one of the hardest things to do in the game.

Yeah, I just went 15-5 at Crossroads sniping as a Terrorist...best ever at that map. My previous best was 12-2 as a SEAL, which I did earlier today heh.

yeah some guy told me all this jazz one day to and i just laughed and laughed then the next game on dg i went on the other team and went 14-4 on his butt with the m40a1 and boy he wasnt happy the next time we were in the lobby. :D

you know what? I'm gonna create a training clan...

I'm going to recruit newbies and people willing to learn how to do stuff and teach them...

I did that on Rogue Spear and Quake 2, I can sure as hell do it in SOCOM 2 (I've played it long enough).

If only my damned mic worked...
