Whats Up With The Headset Volume???

I have seen alot of post stating that the best headset to by is the one made by logitech. I have only seen 2 versions of the PS2 headset and they were both made by logitech,( Sony selling the black one and Logitech selling the grey one ) so im asuming that everyone is refering to the logitech grey one? To be honest they both are around $30.00 here in NC. so i decided to go with the Sony because to be honest i just liked the black over the grey. Is it just me or does the volume on these headsets need a boost? I may have set in front of my guitar amps at full blast to long but got it seemed really lacking in volume...... Anyone else having this problem?

Like you, I went with the black one but the volume seems fine. Somtimes I feel like I need to turn it down. Maybe you got a defective one :(

That is very possible. This is the second one ive bought this week. the first one worked great ecept that i didnt hear nothing out of the earpiece and this one seems to work , except that the volume is lacking.. Are these really that prone to have defects in 2 out of the 2 ive had ?

I have the same thing. Sometimes I feel like everyone is yelling and I am yelling right back at them. I do know several people who bought the grey one and for some reason, they are each having seperate problems. Sometimes the mic will mute for no reason and another time it may get real choppy when they talk.

Yeah, the logitech one is very good. Personally I like the Talk Net one the best, but you have to go to Datel's Product website to get the right plug in so it can work with Socom II.

It's not the fact that mine may be too loud and needs to be turned down, the original post was for a weak headset that he couldn't hear much out of. And yes, I knew about the volume dial. I only use that when i'm playing in a room with a bunch of trash talkers.

Not really sure why you can't hear very well out of your headset. Is it new? And if so, you should be able to take it back in order to try another.
