Headset Question
I am kinda new at this whole PS2 thing and was hoping some of you guys could help. I just bought Socom II and was wondering if the headset only works for online game play or can i actually use it in the 1 player mode? Also i didnt receive the head set with the game so what headset do you guys recomend as i have seen alot of different one's out there....

answer to question 1. Yes u can use the headset on online play and single player play.

Answer to question 2. Buy the new Ps2 logitech headset its good and its only 25 dollars

I found an actual Socom headset for about the same price as the logitech headset. Is the official Socom hs better than the logitech?

Well, if u bought socom 1 it came with a headset, thats what i have, the headset from socom 1

I think the Logitech IS the official headset. Its Sony's headset except it was designed and created by llogitech. It is better then the original socom headset. the original was cheap and dinky. Go with the Logitech one.

Also, does anyone else find it difficult to use the headset with the offline game? I dont even bother anymore, i just use the menu.

logitech is the only maker of the PS2 headsets..buy anyone of them..and you will most likely like it

I don't have a problem with using the mic in off-line games. Actually, this is the first game tht I haven't had to repeat my commands for them to be carried out. The voice recognition in Socom II rocks!!

Yeah. It's not all that great for single player, it just helps a little. For online though, it does wonders. I don't have the new Logitech but the one packaged with Socom 1 is pretty good but doesn't have volume ore mute controls.

yeah i've seen that headset before but i would go with the Logitech one, for one thing.. if you dont want people to hea you u can press the mute button (yeah yeah i know, just don't worry about it), also the is a volume control on it. but its your choice in the long run man
