Online ranking "debate"

Ok, I cant get wings no matter how hard I try.

My rank stays consitently at 60,000 to 80,000 no matter what I do. I average about 11 kills a game and rarely ever miss the MVP. I never enter in a room that has anyone with a lower rank than me, and I always try and enter in rooms where Im against wings. I keep a consistant playing time.
My kills are somewhat higher than my deaths (1600 kills 1100 deaths) and my wins are much higher than losses (2000wins 1000 losses) My accuracy is 14% with about 600 somthing head shots. I always try and do as many objectives as I can. Nothing works!! Also, total playing time is around 90hrs, and I never get booted. Im not trying to cheat and rank up, im just dumbfounded by my endless cookie.

Is there somthing Im missing here? What can I do? :(

You know why? The ranking system has been messed up more than it should have been due to rank up rooms...some undeserving little biznatch has your wings, same happened to me. Now, when I play pistols only, I go 11-2 and go down 30k...wtf.

Many people think pistols only rooms will get your rank higher. This is wrong because everyone is using a pistol. I also think the ranking system is screwed and I don't really care. Back in Socom 1, everyone had fun (besides cheaters or glitchers) and wasn't woried about their rank. I wish they take it out. I always think of it as your stats are what count, not the symbol next to your name.

I'll give people the benefit of the doubt and say that they all worked hard to recieve their wings....Then to make sure they keep 'em "RANK ^ W/..." These rank up games are everywhere in the captains only rooms....I had my wings for a little over a month, didn't play for a week (family and personal issues), lost my wings, and for the past 2 weeks have been unable to get them back....I have good games and my rank goes down, I don't play overnight and my rank goes up?!?!?....These rank up games are the corruption of the online gaming world of Socom 2....But nontheless, at least it gurantees you'll have some competition among the cookies, b/c I'm sure i'm not the only one that's lost my wings to these rank up rooms....

The way I go with kill is somewhere around 2100 and 11?? headshots. I like having half of my kills headshots.

ya i was a captain at 13 thousand o so then like this sucks cuz theres a whole bunch of lil rank up ppl in front of me. so now im tryin to get my kills higher than my deaths like they use to be

well like 3 months ago you were able to get wings in a few games, now it is much harder, captains are the top 5% percent of players, and your stats are ok but not good enough, think if you take 20 random people your stats should be the best or second best if your a captain,, just keep playing and in a few weeks u'll go up

I usually snipe on the hills and go after people i know have a better rank..i went from 65000 to 18ish in 2nights..sniping people w/ a higher rank works..

Don't worry about and just play. Once you get your wings the game becomes different. The only thing you do is worry about loosing your wings. It almost becomes an addiction. One night my rank went down 10000 points and I lost me wings. I stayed up till 4:00 am trying to get them back and never did. I did get them back a few days later and haven't lost them since.

But honestly, I have more fun playing with my practice characters than with my captain.

you dont actually get any lower than 50-60k gradually...you have to do a jump...

What I mean is.. once you get to the 50-60k range...you gotta have a really good game to get it down to about 30k..

On my real name I was like 65k....went 21-7 in blizzard with 2 defusals and 1 plant.... and hopped down to like 22k...

On my clan name (just got to captn. tonite yippee) I was like 58k then I just went 16-3 in Frostfire and hopped down to 35k...

So if you wanna get to Capn....jus stay in the 50-60k range...and play a map that your good at....if you have a hella good game youll be all set..
