1911's are the way to go if you want to try to keep the mil-spec look going. It is a heavier but that keeps recoil down .45 is a good all aroung gun. I have a Rock Ilsand Amoury 1911 and a Kimber pro-carry .45. I carry the sub-compact Glock .45, it is a little big width wise but carries good. If you want a Thinner Glock .45 get the model 33 or 30. I can't remember which one it is. One has a double stack mag and one has the single stack mag. I am too lazy to look at mine.

What all would you like me to explain?

Just to let you know they are both .45 caliber. The 1911 is the type of gun. If you look back into the military days it is the style they carried as side arms. Theres was mad by Colt. Today alot of companies model guns after the 1911 therefore it is a 1911 model.

Glock and various other company also make various size .45 calibers. I mean size as in the size of the frame.

Let me know if you want more.

I'd deffinately have to say get a Glock! They're more durable in my opinion and as elawson said you can get a double stacked mag.
