I downloaded the demo last night after I playerd GHII for a few hours... I can honestly say that I thought it was mildly entertaining. After seeing screenshots of the game days and/or weeks ago, I thought it was odd when I'd see pictures of the AI enemies with their backs turned to your character... but after playing the demo, I can see why.
You block a few sword swipes, and (in this case) Jack Sparrow spins them around with his sword for a "clear shot". I thought the dueling mode brought a new dynamic to this kind of game... and I have to admit, I like this game. It probably has something to do with my love for the movies, but that's just fine with me.
Blasting people with the gun is fun, too... sword swipe, sword swipe, BAM!, they're dead... hilarious!
I also like how you can build your pirate notoriety by fighting dirty like a pirate (yarrr!) and finding gold coins and other artifacts.
The game gets a mild thumbs up, in my opinion.
