I had a feeling that's how it's be. I never trust games made from movies, and vice versa, they just do NOT capture the other as well as I think they could.

I downloaded the free demo today just to see how it is, and I gotta say its incredibly fun. The demo is actually really lengthy (for a demo that is). I really feel like renting the game now to keep playing it because it was just that fun. I don't think it would have great replay value so buying it isn't advised, but renting would be a great idea.

The Pirates demo will be the first thing that I download after I get my 360 back this Friday... glad to see someone "voice" an opinion on it.

My opinion, if you can't get people to walk the plank then it's not worth trying.

I downloaded the demo, and I was pretty disappointed. Well, not disappointed, that means I was expecting to enjoy it in the first place.
IMO, terrible. I didn't finish the whole demo (couldn't jump that one gap with the sword assisted jump or whatever), so that could be part of the problem. From what I played, it seemed very repetitive. Enter a new room, fight off 3-5 guys, collect some ****, and head to the next room. The swordfighting isn't fun either, it's way too easy, with no skill involved. Just keep swiping at them until they turn around and give you a free shot. I also played the Shrek 3 demo, and that game seemed much more fun. The camera angles suck, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I did Pirates.
I wouldn't buy either game, but if I had to pick between the two after playing the demos, it would probably be Shrek.
But hey, that's just my opinion. DL them and play for yourself. These types of games aren't my first choice.

Sword fighting is very fun once you get past the jump and learn about dueling. Yeah, the game itself seems repetitive but for me thats fine becuase most every game is.

I tried out the demo last night, and gave it an exaggerated yawn.
After Tomb Raider:Legend, I need a lot to be impressed with an action/adventure/puzzle solver like this.
It felt way too rough around the edges and sloppy. The controls weren't too bad once I got used to them, and I found the "duel" mode intersting, but other than that it seemed pretty crummy.

I hated the demo. The graphics were beautiful. But the gameplay mechanics sucked.
2 sword blocks, enemy turns around, and then you slash him in the back...
FOR EVERY SINGLE ENEMY!
Yeah, I'm not going to be enjoying that game when it comes out. Even the dueling was....... stupid.
I don't know, I just didn't like it.

Judging by the people on my friend's list that are playing this game, it looks like it'd be EXTREMELY easy to unlock all 1,000 achievement points. From what I saw, just about every achievement is worth 25 points... I should give it a rent, and get an easy 1,000 points added to my gamerscore.
