I'd rather see a game that was based off of the early Vietnam war. The war where everyone was brought in on Apache war helicopters and we fought on open terrain.

Or you could be an infantryman! ... And take longer reloading than shooting.

I'd want to be the guy on the horse, who gets to yell: "The Redcoats are coming! The Redcoats are coming!!!"

You'll want to check out a game called Huxley, which will probably never ever come out.

The MMOG set over a continent has been done I think. A game called WWII Online, I've never played it because it costs money and I'm a cheapskate so don't take my word for it.
Wikipedia's word: "World War II Online: Battleground Europe, also referred to as WWIIOL:BE, WW2OL or BE is a massively multi-player online first-person shooter computer game (MMOFPS) first released 2001-06-06. The game is set in 1940-43 World War II Europe. It is a combined arms war simulation otherwise known as a virtual battlefield. A player can command or crew a variety of accurately modeled aircraft, armored fighting vehicles, anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft artillery, and naval vessels, or fight as a foot-soldier with a variety of infantry weapons. The game is played in real time alongside or against other players as German, British (UK) and French forces in a persistent world. Command structures and missions provide strategic and tactical layers while ranks provide a RPG layer by demonstrating leadership roles. WWIIOL online uses a ½ scale map of Western Europe with 30,000 km² of accurate terrain (800 m resolution satellite data). It is commonly recognized as the first MMOFPS".
Iraq and Afghanistan should not be made into a war game because people have family members either over there right now, or recently deceased. Its not ethical to do it. And its a pretty boring war too.
I would like a game set during the Korean war, back in the fifties. It hasn't been done, to my knowledge, and it just has possibilities, you know? This was the first time the Cold War got hot, with the Russians helping the North Koreans and Chinese fight the UN and USA.
Plenty of sides to play as- American, UN (British and various other nations were involved), South Korean, North Korean, Chinese and unofficially Russian.
The war was also fought at a massive turning point in modern warfare- propellor planes were fighting jets, infantry were moving from semi automatic weapons to automatic (e.g Ak-47) and there was just a plethora of hardware left over from WW2, as well as the new stuff (e.g Helicopters), being used.
The single player campaign would be epic- maybe as a North Korean conscript invading the South initially, then a South Korean in the Pusan pocket in 1950, switch to a UN or American soldier for the landings in the middle of the country and the push to the Chinese border, then you coud be a Chinese soldier for a while fighting your way to the 48th parallel. Then there was a long term air war woth some commando operations. This war took 3 years to resolve itself, and has never been formally ended... possibility for a modern sequel maybe?
Multiplayer... well... this was a real war. No Vietnam guerilla ****. And it hasn't been done into the ground like WW2 shooters- it could take all of the best bits from that war and stick them in a new conflict. Tanks, jets, helicopters and all the mod cons were present as well as some classics.

You start the game off with a class selection screen. For instance you turn on the game and you are immediately asked what class do you want to be the entire game.
So if you want to be a pilot than you choose "Air Force" or if you want to fight on the high seas then you choose "Navy" and so on.
But after a while you start to become a niche in that class, so first you are an F16 pilot, but you soon develop a nack for bombing the **** out the enemy. So you become a B2 Bomber Pilot.
I dunno these ideas a pretty vague but if there was a game where it was total war with everyone else on that same game, I think it would be a pretty cool game.

Yes! Thats the kind of game I was thinking about. I mean, it sounds possible to create. World of Warcraft is a game that is based on two huge continents. If they can make a game like this but change it to a shooter, and of course take out quests and add things that are appropriate for a shooter. That would be awesome!

my idea for the sweetest game ever would be a huge map, where there is just constant fighting one big server, and you have to take control of points and all that, that would be intense, and like the game goes on for like 2 months, then another 2 months :)

These two quotes here pretty much sum up an idea I had like 6-7 years ago! I always thought it would be a great idea to have something like that, because 5-10-minute death matches get boring for me really fast. It would be simply awesome to hop on this MMOFPS one day and immediately be thrown into the war at hand, fighting alongside hundreds and hundreds of your comrades and participating in large-scale skirmishes (or even reconnaissance or small missions) that really matter, several small things that would keep the game fun and entertaining throughout. I have many ideas, but I don't want to give them all away.
I always thought a civil war or a war during the late 1700s or 1800s would be more "friendly" to both (or multiple) sides, as there wouldn't be bombers and what not taking out hundreds of people every minute, and those same people having to respawn miles out just to get bombed again later on. Hell... I think everyone would want to be a friggin' nuker or something related. =P
