Halo 3 vs. Gears of War

Halo could beat Gears Of War anyday!

I like Gears of War much better. I've always liked tactical shooting more than simple run and gun anyway. The main things I like about Gears are the fact that it only lets you die once, and the lightning fast pace of the battles. You're forced to think a lot more before running in instead of just running up with a shotgun yelling "HAI GUIZE! WAT'S UP?!" and then hearing that infamous respawn noise.

Halo 3 sucks. Not because its boring but because it was made purely to appeal to the vast majority of people and thus was created simply and with no depth. It is easy to be good at, its super repetitive, it requires no teamwork because games that require you to work as a team do not appeal to younger kids and people under 15 make up the vast majority of the Halo 3 community. Gears of war on the other hand requires teamwork to succeed. It also makes you think before running out shooting and yelling, unlike halo. Halo is just so repetitive and shallow that the only people that can stand it for more than a month are young kids who want to talk about how they "pwn" at halo. Gears is a masterpiece all around : Graphics, Gameplay, Community.

I like both games for what they offer and it is kind of hard to compare these two games because they really are very different. Now if you were to compare Halo to COD then that would make more sense but Halo is a FPS and GOW is a third person shooter it really is difficult to compare. If I had to compare the two though it would most defiantly be gears. Gears of war has a lot of different thing in it that we may have seen before but not all strung together as well as they did in this game. You have the big guns and big gun battles like in Unreal but yet you have the cover system like in a slower paced game such as rainbow six. The also have the chainsaw attached to the gun, hands down one of the best gun add on in any shooter. With Halo on the other hand the game really didn't have a very big wow factor. There wasn’t really a lot in Halo 3 that when I saw for the first time I was blown away by and thats probably because they really didn't have a lot of stuff that I haven't seen for the first time. Gears just has a lot more to bring to the table than Halo does, not saying Halo isn't bad by any means it's just not as fresh as it could have been it feels very rehashed, there really isn't anything there you couldn't get from another FPS.

I agree, because Halo 3 has every thing a true gamer wants. It has great matchmaking,character models,music,story(including novels), and the energy sword can pwn the chainsaw anyday.

I have to say gears, i mean i love halo and all but it just seems like the same as the last two games. You cant even tell that halo 3 is next gen like you can with gears. Plus there is nothing like chainsawing some trash-talking noob.

I'm not a fan on the control layout in gears.... I just really hate them. I really enjoy playing halo its great to sit down and play with your friends.
