Surprised there isnt a thread for this one yet.

I decided to try it out today on the PS3 and must say... This has to be the best game on the PS3 to date.

The reviews for this game should be very good. Its much more fun playing it on a console then on a PC with a mouse and keyboard.

Best way I could describe it is Gears of War on crack.

Its a nice change of pace if your starting to get tired of all the campers on COD4. No time / place for camping on this one..

360 users have to wait 6 months I believe for their version to come out...

I wasn't aware UT3 was coming out on console. I thought it was just PC. Either way, I'll probably be picking this up eventually for PS3.

My only concern is offline bot support. I know the original PS2 version of UT only supported 6 or 7 bots (which would make for hell on larger maps).

I own the original UT for PC and was hooked immediately. I have the UT2004 demo on my computer now and I'm hooked on Onslaught. I'm hoping I get the full game for Christmas since I don't have XP or Vista (old school Windows 2000) to run UT3.

The game is amazing. Everything about it. I havent even started off-line yet.

Another thing great about this version is you could add Mutators or Mutations (i forget which one) on online play to even things out.

For instance one of them makes it so that everybody starts with the same weapon and there are no weapon pickups and no powerups. This is the best way to play in the beginning since theres always those nerds that know everything within a minute of playing the game... For instance knowing exactly where all the best weapons and power ups are...

A funny Mutator is called Big Head... The higher your kill / death ratio the bigger your head gets...lol Theres alot of others as well.

This game is many times better then any version of Halo. I say Halo instead of COD4 because this game is much more relevant to Halo.

Now back to the topic at hand. I really want to get this game and it's only a matter of time before I get it. I used to be hooked on the original UT since it "somehow" got installed on every computer at my old school and we had nothing better to do.

I'm addicted to this game already. I suck at FPS shooters but I don't care it's tons of fun. If it only had the replay video abilities like Halo 3 it would be the only game I'd play on my PS3 other than Uncharted. Feel free to add me but in you message tell me that you got my name from this fourm and what you forum name is so I know who you are. I hate getting random friend requests, It's why I don't like myspace.

I am getting Unreal Tournament 3 for christmas though, but I can't wait.

I dont know why anyone would want to use those though. Its like a whole new world with a console controller. Much, much better.

I've been playing Instagib mode all day. One shot one kill with the laser. I probably wont ever play the normal mode anymore with all the guns. Its very un-even when people get the big weapons and powerups before you do. I could see how people could get annoyed with this game quickly if they dont discover Instagib mode quickly.

Doing a map that recommends only 4 to 8 people...and putting 12 people in there is the best. Insane action.

Graphics are slightly better then Gears of War. Very similar graphics engine. Gameplay is flawless. I havent noticed any performance issues yet. I've been hosting all my games though.. So im sure people joining random games may run into network problems / game freezes.

Single player looks nice so far. Online co-op is also available.

If ever there would be a breakthrough game for the PS3.. I think this is it. Finally a reason to get a PS3.

That is because it IS the same graphics engine, but enhanced.

When I get my new gaming rig in June (When I graduate), I am going to repurchase UT3 for the PC so I can make my own mods.

Oh, and if you guys didn't know, you can freely download mods off the internet onto your PS3. The mods people make for the PC version work for the PS3 version as well.
