My first night playing it. Definately worth the 9.0 or higher rating.

Im taking my time and exploring everything.. much more worth the money this way.

I noticed you were playing it last night... I hope to have a copy in my mailbox today, so I can get home and play it all night long.

Let me guess... you're ready to give that award to Halo 3? I'm sure that will be a great game, but not near as original as BioShock... while it may not have a 30+ hour chunk of time set aside to complete the story mode, it most cetainly holds its own. Besides, people would have been b!tching about it being "too long" if a game (like BioShock) took longer than 30 hours of time to complete.

It's a typical "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario... and in my otherwise humble opinion, there is more than enough incentive to play the story through a second time... one time to save all the Little Sisters, and one time to destroy all the Little Sisters.

I'd like to know what you think will top this game for "game of the year" status... if it's not Halo 3, then I can't think of another game that could pass up BioShock. Maybe COD4, then? I honestly don't know if there are games on the horizon that could be in contention for such an award.

Yeah, I knew Nun's pick would definitely not be Halo 3.

When does Assassin's Creed come out? November, right? That'd be my pick for game of the year, but it's still early.

Bioshock definitely has some unique and notable themes and gameplay. It's certainly a stellar game, but time will tell on who gets the title.

Halo 3 will not win game of the year. 100% gaurantee you. I would say it is posible that it won't even got nominated. If it does win somehow, I will lose faith in humanity.

Game of the year will go to one of the following, Bioshock, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, Call of Duty 4, BRAWL.

And all I can say is, they are all lucky MGS4 got pushed to 2008. :)

You got that right... if MGS4 was still going to be released in 2007, they just might as well engrave the "game of the year" award right now.

True... but the more people (magazine reviewers, etc.) that get the opportunity to play early builds of Assassin's Creed, the more word gets around that the game doesn't seem to be living up to the original expectations. Personally speaking, hearing/reading information like that makes me take a step back from anointing such a game as being "game of the year".
