Seth said this. That Slant Six was working on Confrontation as Zipper began work on S4. No mention of a timeline though.

Money is the point. A new Socom will drive a certain percentage of PS3 sales, while two titles will earn more than one.

I don't think it's really fair to classify Confrontation as this. Granted it's going to sport a redo of Crossroads, but that's about where the remake bit ends.
As I recall it, I believe Seth was quoted in Blykmic's E3 interview as saying Crossroads was the only map planned to get the PS3 treatment. Of course, I could be wrong, and all things are subject to change until they pass.
