Time Crisis 4 (PS3)
GameTrailers.com - Time Crisis 4 (Playstation 3) - Media, News, Reviews, Previews

I have always been a fan of Time Crisis in the Arcade, a long with many other games, especially House of the Dead. Time Crisis 4 is already in the arcades, although I have not played it, but I am looking forward to the PS3 one. The gun you get with it is bright orange, probably just to avoid any frivolous lawsuit against them about it looking real.

The game offers some new things though, it has the tradition on rails shooting mode, but also a new FPS mode where you use the 2 analog sticks on the gun. One is on the back of the gun, and the other is on an atachable thing on the side of the gun. But you can move freely around the levels while shooting people. It also offers many time trail games and challenge modes.

I wonder how this will work on an HDTV though. The light guns before used the lights from an SDTV for it to work, but for an HDTV would we have to use a sensor bar?

That would be my guess for it to work properly... but I could be wrong. After playing the Wii over the weekend, their sensor bar seemed to work without so much as a hiccup on my HDTV... hence the reason behind my "theory".

It comes with two sensors, and from what I read in an interview, it will work with anything (even projectors). Also, the Japanese get a black GunCon, but we get the orange one (lawsuit avoiding I guess).

On amazon.com, this is listed as $89.99 (with GunCon). I wonder how much a seperate GunCon is going to cost (I want one for me and my bro)?

Anyway, I can't wait.

Im assuming 30 or 40, just a guess. Do you know if it would work on an SDTV without the sensors? Because I know they would need it on any other kind of TV.

I believe you need to use the sensors (works on any TV/projector) in order to use the GunCon.

Now if it allows people to use their controllers (I hope it does), then you wouldn't need sensors. But then you wouldn't have a gun, and what's the fun in that?

Guncons, and other light guns have never used a sensor for SDTV. So I was wondering if they made this to work on an SDTV, like every other guncon without a sensor bar, but then works with a sensor for other HDTV/Projection, whatever.

Ok, I just went and re-read the article, and this is what it said.

It said that this version of the GunCon is different because it used to just take a picture of the screen (no sensors), and then work from memory (or something like that).

But with this new version, there's the two sensors you place on your TV (top corners), so it doesn't have to do the "play by memory" game.

It also said that they were compatible with any TV (CRT, LCD, projectors, etc.), so it should work fine for us (I say us, becuase I have an SDTV as well).

Oh I have an SDTV in my room, but **** that, I am playing this on my 42 inch 1080p in my living room xD

But what I was wondering was that if it used the old system for SDTVs, but required sensors for other types of TVs. I thought it could work both ways, but it seems like they scrapped that and is requiring sensors for EVERY tv.
