Killzone (PS3)

This game, recieved a lot of hype way back at E3 2005. At that point it looked like Sony was definately going to win the "Next Gen Console War", yet we have not heard any true information until very recently.

Here is the CGI trailer that made people realize the power the PS3 could hold.

It's not really much of a thing to talk about, but hell it's been two years since the CGI trailer and we have yet to hear a single thing about the game ever since Guerilla Games said the trailer was rendered to what the PS3's specs were.

I did not play the original game on the PS2, but just the way the trailer flowed I will definately buy this when I have enough money and enough insanity (price) to go out and buy a PS3.

I was just checking Kotaku for something new to check out and this came up looks like we won't have to wait that much longer for a Killzone 2 demo.

Kotaku alum and 1Up's bearded newsranger Luke Smith just dropped the following juicy rumor in our collective laps. In short, it is:

Expect a playable Killzone 2 demo to be released (hmm, Phil Harrison is keynoting at GDC...) before gamers are participating in the beta for Halo 3.

That's right, Killzone 2. Sony apparently shelved the game in favor of Resistance, while continuing the game's development. Supposedly Killzone 2 is ready to rock 'n' roll and has been playable online for a year. Luke Smith swears this comes from a good source, so do keep that in mind! Brian Ashcraft

Sony overhyped the original Killzone so much saying that it would become more popular then Halo extc. and then the game ended up being pretty mediocre. I liked playing through it, but it was nothing special (especially the online). Maybe this game will step it up but it is not one of the games Im really looking forward too.

I am not really all hyped for it, but the trailer got me and pretty much everyone excited about the game. After making this thread I looked into the first Killzone and I see as what you said "overhyped and mediocre".

Yet if they are keeping the lid on this game for such a long time you have to think that something pretty big is going down at Guerilla HQ in Amsterdam. I mean if you go into the Killzone Mess Hall on the Playstation forums, all you see are questions about Killzone PS3 and the answers are always something like this,

At the time we cannot comment on that, wait and see.

So I guess we will have to wait and see!

When I saw the trailer last E3 I wanted to get my hands on it pretty damn bad. The trailer was amazing, but I'm not really hyped to go buy a PS3 for this game.
