I unlocked the demo for Tenchu on the newest OXM magazine demo disc Tuesday night... and I must say, this looks like another sweet upcoming game for the 360!!!
Being a HUGE fan of the earlier Tenchu games on PlayStation, I was completely taken back to the good ole days... only now, the animations are that much better! Stealth kills have never been so much fun!!!
I'll be drooling over the demo until the game is released... that's for sure!

I loved the ones on the PS2. As frustrating as they could be at times, there was still something sweet about a ninja game.
I saw this video tonight, and I'm a little dissappointed. The graphics look a little light for next-gen, and the animations are too clunky. It looks like they still haven't figured out a good camera system for the game, and there's not much more than hack+hack+slashes in combat. The stealth kills look good though.
I'll check out the demo, but I'm not holding my breath.
This commercial is kinda funny, but it looks like there might be a multiplayer?
There's a new video highlighting all the features of this game, which is now titled Tenchu Z.
Instead of in the past Tenchu titles where you pick one of a few characters to play as, this one is all on you. You create your own ninja, and progress through missions and assignments. Throughout your career you get what all ninja seek besides blood-stain repellent black pajamas: money. With the money you earn, you can purchase new items for your arsenal, ninja skills, and clothing.
The graphics still look below average for next-gen, but Tenchu Z will also feature online co-op and competitive multi-player when it is released exclusively for the 360 later this summer.
Gameplay is always more important than graphics, so I'll be hoping for this to deliver in that department.

Sorry... my Japanese translating ability is seriously lacking... when I posted this topic, it was after I played the unlockable demo on the OXM disc a long time ago.
I just read more information on it in the newest OXM magazine, which was dropped off in my mailbox over the weekend while I was out-of-town visiting Larry.
To me, I think it should be a good game, judging by how good the old ones were on PlayStation 1.

I heard a rumor last night at school that Tenchu Z is supposed to have a co-op assassination mode, where you will have the ability to partner up with people to take out your targets.
It'd be pretty cool to be able to run around in feudal Japan, dressed like a ninja with a few of the other people on the forums.

I've been in love with the series since the day it came out but the first video they showed definitely disappointed me. The videos Omega posted look pretty cool. Although I think they changed Ghoda to Goda, which isn't cool... lol
But the gameplay just looks really cheesy IMO. It may a good transition from the old Tenchu games but it just doesn't look like they're catching up with the times. And it's twitchy when you try to do a stealth kill on someone you like warp around. Could just be that it isn't finished yet (and I hope that's the case) but it just looks weird. The cool cinema scenes look good as usual but if they tried they could make the whole game look much much better for next-def. I also noticed it looks like they still have guards staring at the walls like in the old games. They'd make you wait til the guard walks a certain way and stares at a wall for about 5 seconds so you can kill him. Pretty excited to see Rikimaru it looks like he's some type of leader once you're in the Azuma Ninja Clan. The stealth kills are also interactive it looks like. In one of the videos a female ninja runs up to a guy and grabs him and holds him by the neck and covers his mouth and then it looks like there is another option of how you want to kill him (SWEET!). No matter what I'm still gonna get this game. I love Tenchu and can't wait to play online.
Sorry this post was horribly unorganized I just went along and wrote things as I watched the videos.
If not, then I wouldn't be so quick to judge the game just yet... from the Japanese demo that I played, I thought it controlled much better than the old Tenchu games did.
And this is from only playing the demo... I can't see any reason why the finished product won't be better than the Japanese demo.

No. What I do is play the video on my computer, fullscreen it, then I grab my controller and pretend I'm playing it. I'd say the controls are pretty tight. I could be wrong though.
