it does work, i just pulled it off, but i'm not sure how, i was looking at the controller trying to make sure i was hitting only one direction at a time instead of two but i did wind up getting 30 lives.


i don't remember the game being short enough to beat in 12 minutes. wow!

How do you do the code? If you are doing it from the main menu, it is IMPOSSIBLE. From the main menu, "B" exits the game and "A" starts it. If it is from a paused screen, while playing, I am a douchebag, and should purchase "Contra" for Creep.......scumbag!

ok the best i can do for you for right now is say that when i did it i was on the actual contra title screen showing the 2 guys and the "press start" or whatever it says. you do the code and once you hit b it does in fact try to take you back the contra arcade screen. what i did was hit b, a, start really quick and then pressed start as usual and when the game started i had the 30 lives.

i've only pulled it off twice so far so i'm still unsure of exactly how i'm doing it but i'll mess with it and see if i can master it.


edit: yep, that's exactly how i've been able to do it, i've just done it 3 times in a row to double check.

Well, you're definitely correct... I just (finally) downloaded Contra a few minues ago, and the way you suggested on inputting the "30 man code" worked like a charm.

I'm also glad to see that your high score doesn't register if you use the "30 lives" code... I finished the game, and had some 1,000,000+ point total... but it only registers my legit score of 75,007.

that's cool, but i suck at contra anyway so i never expect to get a highscore. besides, isn't it kind of unamerican to play contra without using the worlds most famous code? i think there might even be some sort of law against it. lol
