I'm sorry but this game to me is way better than GTA. I love being able to go into Brown Baggers, and buying some weed and yak. A couple shots of yak your boy will throw up all over the place. That is crazy.

While I disagree that it "is way better than GTA", I do agree with you about the ability to purchase liquor & drugs from the local store. The only thing that I found strange was the fact that cops don't stop you from smoking drugs right out in plain view. I sparked up a blunt in front of a patrolling cop, and he just kept walking right by. Odd...

It's tough to argue that a game is better than the GTA games... it's hard to mess with the franchise that made this kind of open ended gaming experience as popular as it is today. I'll have to wait until I play the final version of Saints Row before I make a bold claim like that.

By the way, The Quarter Match online games are extremely entertaining.. Thats what I was trying to invite you to last night...In those rooms there isnt even a gauruntee that we'd play each other.. One person remains in the champion seat until he's knocked off. And once you lose, you can still stay in the room until you leave manually.. Like a few days ago.. I wouldnt leave the room until I beat this guy...after 2 hours I finally got him.. Alot of fun trash talk aswell. Everyone in the room can hear and speak each other..even if their currently fighting.

Oh, I agree that it's fun... I played one quarter match just to unlock the achievement... but it'd be even more entertaining (for me) if I had an old school arcade stick to use for Street Fighter. I used to be able to Dragon Punch over and over back in the arcade days of the 1990s... but it's extremely difficult to do so with a console controller. Then you have to take into account the slight bit of hesitation that's factored in when playing over an internet connection.

Great game, don't get me wrong... but nowhere near as "classic" as it used to be when arcades were still popular.

I just downloaded the demo from XBL the other day and think it might be a keeper. Although it was a demo and didn't have a lot of features I did like the character customization and some aspects of it are a bit better than GTA. I don't think it will be as good as GTA but it's probably worth getting nonetheless. One thing I didn't really like was the car handling and fight controls. Other than that it should be good.

I like the demo, the graphics are great, and the gameplay fun. Allstar, you do not need a gold membership to download demos, you can download them with a silver membership as well. You can get and AK-47 too, look around on the net for how to do it. But you can easily get through the demo walls by pulling up to one on the driver's side(leave a little space, between the door and wall) then double tap y and your dude should jump out of the car and run right through the wall. The AK-47 is in the middle of a basketball court.

Really? I didn't think the car handling was that bad... especially considering it was a demo that I played. I thought the car handling was WAY better than what I remember playing on "Driver: Parallel Lines".

I guess I'm just comparing it to GTA too much but they're alright. I went on a rampage for a while the other night and the cops are pretty hard to lose unless you get out of the car and take 'em out.

I like when you get one cop chasing you then you just turn around and pistol whip him, butt him with your shotgun or crack him with the bat/crowbar. When he falls you just duck behind a wall and he can't find you.

I can't wait until this comes out and we get a gang going. Who all is gonna join so far? I know me and Creep are. Perhaps Odin, Libertine, Tix and c0mm? All others are welcome as well (I assume).
