Lost Planet (360)

Has anyone heard about this game or played the demo? I downloaded the demo from marketplace yesterday and I really enjoyed it.

Bascially it's like Starship Troopers on a frozen planet and you're solo. There's also arctic pirates (lol) scattered around who are out to get you. You get a wide variety of weapons that are found all over the map.

This game has some great potential and I'll be picking it up when it comes out this winter.

I saw this game in action through the E3 coverage that was on G4TV a few weeks back... looked pretty good.

Perhaps I'll d-load the demo and check it out...

The graphics and animations look amazing. I love how the snow looks, it's insane how realistic the snow is when the character jumps and moves around.

The demo for Lost Planet was on the new OXM demo disc... can't believe I forgot to play this game after all this time!

I can't explain in words how awesomely real the environment "feels" as you play... you really feel like you're stranded on a planet Hoth-like world of thick, frozen snow and strong, cold winds.

To be honest, it really felt like I was playing a game like SOCOM, GTA, or games of that type as I was targeting and shooting the alien life on the planet dead. It didn't even take that long to get the hang of moving the "mechs" around with great success... the controls are excellently laid out, if you ask me.

The addition of a "grappling hook" was yet another good addition to the game... especially when I fought this HUGE alien creature inside of a warehouse; which happened to remind me of that multiplayer map on SOCOM 2... the one with the submarines in the middle.

I'll DEFINITELY have to have this game at the top of my GameFly list before it is released on January 12, 2007.

yes ive been watching it for awhiel too and from all the vids and picks maybe it will fill my socom 2 void

the mechs, grappling hook, weapons etc look awesome and i think this game will be a good one especially online if all goes well.

Yeah, I heard he got one a few days ago... but he's not on XBL just yet. I think I remember him saying that he'll be online after the holidays.

Seems like lot's of people may have been brainwashed by are constant " I Love

My 360 " rants as well as are constant love and admiration for GoW and R6V....I just got a friend invite from Otter the other Day also....

Either way I'm very pleased to see alot of people on these forums are starting to make the Next-Gen

So whos getting this on Jan 12th? So far its a toss up for me. I do think the graphics are bad azz and the grapling hook thingy so reminds me of "Bionic Commando" (refrencing the classic nes 8 bit game i STILL play from time to time to this day) and is a cool feature. Weapon variety couold be better but with the way its set up with added mechs i can get over the lack of variety weapon wise.

The ONLY problem i had witht he demos was the control was a little stiff i feel. Maybe the problem was i was wishing for socom 2 like controls for it since it does have that "socom" feel graphic wise and 3rd person wise. What is everyones thoughts about it? If i get it i will get the collectors addition for the new map early too. By the time the game comes out i will be online for sure.

I added quite a bit of yall to my name i reserved on the xbox website so id be ahead of the game when i get everything going. Cant wait to frag some hoes online
