Idea for future shooter games
Alought I love some FPS games I just can't see myself ever buying one after the SOCOM series. I think that ALL future shooters should have a first-person view and a third-person view in order to please everyone. This idea came to me after going back to play COMMAND 7 CONQUER: RENEGADE which is defaultly a first-person shooter, but has the option to change it to third-person. If BF: MC 2 had this I would have bought it because it is a great game, I just can't get past the annoyences of a first-person genera.One of the only exceptions to this is James Bond 007 Goldeneye which was my first shooter ever, i just can't get past the recoil in first-person shooters.
Any comments? post them.

Yeah... have you played G.R.A.W. yet? Perfect example of what you are talking about. They have a first person view, as well as a (SOCOM style) third person view.

Excellent game from what I've heard... as well it being just as good of a game that SOCOM is.

No I haven't played G.R.A.W yet, haven't even heard of it until now, but will check it out. If future shooters have this people won't complain that the fps are better then tps because the games will be both, ant if will please all shooter fans. Thats what has killed shooters for me first person because i've been playing SOCOM since the first day it came out.

Sorry about the double post, but Star Wars:BattleFront II is exactally what I am talking about, you can go either 1st or 3rd person, with eaching having advantages.

1st Person, All guns have a scope rather then some just going into a semi 1st person view. (it has the gun infront of you but you can see some of your body

3rd Person: Better line of sight, face it a 3rd person player will always see alot more that a first person player.

Here are my ideas:

ESRB RATING
- AO for intense blood and realism. Language, Racial Comments and Sexual Remarks.
  • Limit how many people can carry what in online multiplay (much like in the PC game Day of Defeat).
  • Focus on teamplay by emphasise damage to real life equations.
  • Make ammo limits closer to life as to limit n00bs running around draining a clip.
  • If they create a respawn, make more than one spawn pooint any any "small maps".
  • Make it realistic by watching Black Hawk Down 53 times.
  • Make Battlefield 2 on Playstation look as crappy as it is.
  • Have actual sound effects to their .50 calibers like in SOCOM 3.
  • Make human damage realistic as well, I mean like if you get hit with an HE or an RPG shell, you go bye bye. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE WHO THINKS THIS....right fellas?
  • Make it to where if you glitch outside of a map, a dedicated server should detect you and ban your IP address for one week the first time.
  • Put the weapons people want to see in there, take advice from real troops and veterans.
  • Dont just focus on one special unit (ex. the seals), broden it up to more enemies and types of US soldiers.
  • Focus on REAL landscapes and operations, and set the odds to meet them.
  • America will own from a technical firearm standpoint, but the enemy will have more stopping power in their weapons, and also have booby traps.
  • Make smoke grenades everyones friend.
  • Create the NEED to drop prone and take cover as in REAL military procedure.
  • Make it so that people cant Rambo it like in SOCOM 3.
  • Limit exactly how many snipers can be on team.
  • Create damage modeling on at least a litte bit of the map.
  • Make some walls "shoot-thru-able".
Have WAR CRIES!!! That would rule. American soldiers can shout "Come get some motherf*cker!!!" and "That towel headed p*ssy!!" "Motherf*cker shot me!" and other stuff. Terrorists can shout stuff like "Yankee pig f*cker", "Allah u Akbar", and other terrorist like remarks. THIS IS WHY I THINK IT SHOULD BE AN AO GAME.

Quite short:
Balance realism and fun.
If I wanted to have a realistic shooting frenzy, I'd join the army, but I want it to be fun and non-dangerous.
