Marc Ecko's Getting Up (Ps2/Xbox)
I played this game for the first time last night... much better than I expected. The fighting aspect could have used a little more refinement, but the whole graffiti tag element is definitely something fresh.
I'll post more about it later... I need to play it some more... been fiending for it all day long. teehee!
Take a look at the website: http://www.atari.com/gettingup/

It looks cool... But do you just figure out good spots to do graff? Or can you draw your own tags or pieces somehow? I wouldn't want to just hit a button and he sprays a lame *** tag somewhere.

It's kinda tough to explain... but here it goes... your character (Trane) has this "intuition" mode that you can use to locate "prime" spots to tag your artwork. Mostly, it is tagging your work over rival graffiti artists' tags... but there are always other spots around the map to tag your personal stuff. With either a marker, spray paint, sticker, or stencil.
You use the right analog stick to move your hand around the tag, thereby dispensing an even amount of paint. But if your tag drips, you lose extra points for the tag... along with a loss of "reputation" points (aka "getting up").
Personally, I thought it was a nice touch for the developers to hide music tracks across all of the levels (in the form of little iPod icons). I've unlocked several of those already...

That actually sounds really cool. 2 years ago I got into graffitti, never kept up with it though. I got my name up a little bit. It's tough

I'm guessing that you live near the New York area?
Yeah... I also failed to mention that you can take snapshots of actual graffiti artists' work around the maps... then their stuff is added to your black book (aka diary) for later reference and/or inspiration.

Yep, New York. My name Z3CH actually came from graffitti... That's when I first thought of it. It's from an old name I used to have, but shortened and a little number added in there ;P. The game soudns good but I don't know if it's worth buying.

Well... for a former graffiti (such as yourself), I'd suggest giving it a rent?

Yeah probably... Another question, is it one of those games I can beat in like 1-2 days? =P

Good question... I've heard that there is a bunch of content to run through with the game. Lemme see about that...
In the meantime, here is a link to some of the game's screenshots:
http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/723/723652/imgs_1.html
EDIT:
Wow... stayed up very plate playing this game last night. Here's what I found out about the game as I was playing it...
There are 11 separate areas for you to go complete... and inside of those 11 areas, there are at least 4 or 5 "zones" for you to complete.
There are 55 iPod songs to find/unlock.
There are more than 30 "other" unlockables.

^^^BUMPITY-BUMP^^^
I'm very shocked that both PSM & OXM (Official Xbox mag) gave a game like this a score of 8.0 out of 10. That's about the same score that I would have given this game... had I written a review for a magazine, anyway.
