MGS 3: Subsistence (PS2)
Brand new version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Basically, its just a revamped Snake Eater, with more camoflauge, face paints, and pretty much everything cooler.

But, in the Limited Edition, available by pre-order only, you get:

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence(revamped Snake Eater)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Persistance(ONLINE!1!!!!1! Snake Eater)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Existence (3 ****in' hours of MGS cutscenes! It's remade! INTO A MOVIE!!!)

Have fun jerkin' tonight, boys!

In the new PSM magazine (April 2006), they have an exclusive story on the online modes that will be available in MGS3: Subsistence.

I'd definitely suggest that anyone who is remotely interested in the MGS universe should pickup a copy of this issue once it hits the local newsstands!!!

Here are the online modes that will be in the "new" MGS3:

Deathmatch (self explanatory)
Team Deathmatch (self explanatory)
Sneaking (someone is Snake, and they swipe microfilm and need to return the stolen goods to one of the two bases located on the map)
Rescue (one team defends a flag, the other team needs to storm in, take the flag, and return it to their home base)
Capture (kinda like capture the flag, to make a long story short)

Here are the online maps that will be in the "new" MGS3:

Killhouse A - a network of tight, interconnected spaces (suited for deathmatches)
Killhouse B - same, but larger than Killhouse A
Killhouse C - same, but larger than Killhouse B
Graniny Gorki Lab - a broad, two-story building with a central courtyard and many rooms
Pillbox Purgatory - an underground facility with long, branching hallways leading up to a set of pillboxes
Mountaintop - a jagged slope full of trenches, bunkers, and tunnels
Lost Forest - a small, very dense jungle
Ghost Factory - an abandoned, two-story factory surrounded by tall grass and old equipment
City Under Siege - a web of multi-tiered streets and tall buildings
Svyatogornyj East - a cabin, with a small shed nearby, surrounded by acres of jungle
High Ice - a very large snowfield with bunkers on either side
Brown Town - a large city block with multiple interiors and tunnels

Along with the "normal" kind of soldiers, the room's host can enable special characters to fight for their faction. Here's the list:

Solid Snake
Revolver Ocelot
Dr. Sokolov
Ivan Raidenovich Raikov
Reiko Hinomoto

Looks like I will be pre-ordering this game sometime very soon!

I saw all that too Keith! I was like "Whoa...". It seems really great, I've never been a huge fan of MGS. I've played it, and it's good, but it's no Socom to me. This is only $30 according to PSM, so I may have to pick it up. It looks amazing.

We want everyone to enjoy the whole story even if they don't finish the game.

The disc features more than just our dynamic revisions of the original Snake Eater cutscenes. We have added a number of unique cuts and shots between the extant cutscenes, entirely under Director Hideo Kojima's close supervision. With re-mastered audio and an exclusive narration track, the 3.5 hours of the MGS3 Director's Cut will feel like a fresh experience. Even Snake Eater veterans will rediscover the story's powe.

Snake Eater's story received accolades from all over the world in addition to its high-quality gameplay. Now the critically acclaimed drama will ignite its pathos for all audiences, not just game players alone. We would like for you to experience the legacies of these Cold War heroes, so bring along your loved ones and etch their memories onto your hearts.

The $30 price tag is definitely accurate... I preordered my copy through EB Games after I read this very same PSM issue.

Sounds like I may be getting myself a new game, that isn't Socom. I've only done this once in the past 8 months.
