In the new PSM magazine (April 2006), they have an exclusive story on the online modes that will be available in MGS3: Subsistence.
I'd definitely suggest that anyone who is remotely interested in the MGS universe should pickup a copy of this issue once it hits the local newsstands!!!
Here are the online modes that will be in the "new" MGS3:
Deathmatch (self explanatory)
Team Deathmatch (self explanatory)
Sneaking (someone is Snake, and they swipe microfilm and need to return the stolen goods to one of the two bases located on the map)
Rescue (one team defends a flag, the other team needs to storm in, take the flag, and return it to their home base)
Capture (kinda like capture the flag, to make a long story short)
Here are the online maps that will be in the "new" MGS3:
Killhouse A - a network of tight, interconnected spaces (suited for deathmatches)
Killhouse B - same, but larger than Killhouse A
Killhouse C - same, but larger than Killhouse B
Graniny Gorki Lab - a broad, two-story building with a central courtyard and many rooms
Pillbox Purgatory - an underground facility with long, branching hallways leading up to a set of pillboxes
Mountaintop - a jagged slope full of trenches, bunkers, and tunnels
Lost Forest - a small, very dense jungle
Ghost Factory - an abandoned, two-story factory surrounded by tall grass and old equipment
City Under Siege - a web of multi-tiered streets and tall buildings
Svyatogornyj East - a cabin, with a small shed nearby, surrounded by acres of jungle
High Ice - a very large snowfield with bunkers on either side
Brown Town - a large city block with multiple interiors and tunnels
Along with the "normal" kind of soldiers, the room's host can enable special characters to fight for their faction. Here's the list:
Solid Snake
Revolver Ocelot
Dr. Sokolov
Ivan Raidenovich Raikov
Reiko Hinomoto
Looks like I will be pre-ordering this game sometime very soon!
