Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)

Well... I just got through playing the demo for this upcoming game (thanks OPM magazine) and I actually slayed the colossus that is "playable" on the disc this time around!!!

For the past several days, I struggled to find a way to kill this (I'm guessing) 10-story tall beast... it wasn't until I completely read the review for the game that I got a small clue on how to take more energy away from the colossus.

This game could turn out to be one of those "sleeper hits"... might have to pick up a copy myself to find out!

This game is very good...imo. The graphics are really good too. One of the best games I have ever played, although it does get a bit boring and its way too easy to get lost....kinda reminds me of the legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of time.

I can't help it... being a member of the PlayStation Underground, they send me demos all the time!

Hell, they even had me send in a (200 word minimum) review of the "Shadow" demo for a chance to win the full version of the game... still keeping my fingers crossed.

Anyone who played Ico should NOT find this game to be a sleeper. Ico (imo) was one of the most underrated/under the radar/beautiful games ever. Beautiful graphics, solid game play...with a twist (I really liked how the enteraction between the boy with horns and the princess in white was both the story AND essential to the style of play), and a wonderful story line.
I haven't gotten a chance to play the demo but I'm glad to hear good things about it as I am expecting another solid title in this line of games.
I'm curious as to how the story is going to go. From what you've seen so far Neg, is the princess in white still in it? What about any signs of the shadow creatures? I'm sure the boy with horns is tha main character (or at least that's what I've seen) but things have been pretty quiet as to his overal purpose for bringing down these collosi.

Do agree with Negative though, if you have the time and enjoy a good puzzle/rpgish type game check this game out...and if you want backstory..give Ico a rental. You won't be disappointed.

Btw Creep, do you have the 411 on a release date for this title?

This game is already out man. Been out for a couple weeks now I believe. I went to Blockbuster to give it a try (based on what creep said) and they were all out of it.

First of all, I have played Ico... this is the reason for me liking this game sooooo much so far.

As far as the story goes, this is a separate story from that of Ico's. It is a story about a teenage (he's somewhere around this kind of age) boy that has to bring the love of his life back to the realm of the living... it starts off with him riding to this temple on horseback, he sets her on this "altar", and a voice from above tells him of a way to bring her back from the clutches of death... by defeating the 16 colossi; each with a "representation" statue lined up in that very same temple that you start off in. After defeating each colossus, their corresponding statue will crumble to the ground...

UPDATE: I got past the first seven colossi, before I returned my copy of the game to Gamefly.

(SOCOM PSP comes out soon. Sue me.)

Might be a game for my Christmas list...

Ressurection
My friend plays WoW so when I go over his house I turn on his dusty PS2 and load up this game, I played for like 4 straight hours one night, I'm up to like the eigth(Definitely spelled that wrong) right now.
