I am really excited about the release of this game. Besides the mere director's name in the game title, the game itself seems like it's gonna be an original piece of work... here's a descriptive portion of a review I read at http://www.gamingtarget.com/article.php?artid=4175:

What's interestingly unique about Hip's City of the Dead, though, is that unlike a regular horror-based Resident Evil, this game will pile onto players zombie after zombie after zombie. Rather than being the type of zombie game where you're investigating a creepy mansion, a police station, or the like, City of the Dead will stand in the vein of a First Person Shooter rather than a slower-paced horror adventure. With that in mind, the ultimate goal in City of the Dead will be to survive. No intricate puzzle solving. No mutated dogs and Nemesis creatures. Here it's going to be just you, a small percentage of the living, and the brain-draining dead.
It has a 4 player online option as well... I wish it was more, but that'll do! If someone on your team gets bitten, they'll turn into a zombie and try to get the rest of you!! W00T!!
Does that sound badarse or what!?
BTW, this game's supposed to be coming out in Spring 2006.
As with all unreleased games, I try my best not to think about them. They never seem to live up to any expectations and I usually get disappointed. (see SW Battlefront) I don't even read up on socom 3 information out of fear that it won't live up to all the hype.
What draws me to City of the Dead is that the father of the zombies (Romero) had a huge role in its production. I trust he will make sure this game is a good one and disappoint his diehard fans.
As for some bonuses I'd like to see...how about a mission in the mall from Dawn, a chase through the cemetary from Night, and a stand-off in the basement from Day.
From what I've seen, this game looks sick. My only complaint so far is the first person shooter view. I have and always will hate it and I don't think I can ever get used to it. Thanks socom for spoiling me!

Hmmmm... I might have to check this game out sometime. I'm a fan of Romero's work, and it would be interesting to see how it translates into the video game "world".

Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!

Hiding behind a wall and using camera angles to your advantage?
Wouldn't fit right in a zombie game, especially one that's supposed to be as fast-paced as this one. Shouldn't have any time to think/react/line up a shot from the comfort of a wall.

This seems to be the only disappointing thing that I've read so far. I can't stand waiting, especially when I start getting myself all worked up.
Nonetheless, I could see this game taking up a vast majority of my time.

What's up there Mr.uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh oh yeah ROB!
Just to shed some light, I hate the first person view because it makes me physically sick. I never got into the whole FPS genre. I really only play SOCOM and Splinter Cell so I'm used to the 3rd person perspective. I will try my best to adapt to this game however.
PS The Big Lebowski Special edition is due out in October. It's already been posted and they will not ****ING UNPOST IT! :D

Nada much my good man. Busy season at work, so I'm running myself ragged for the next 3 months while getting ridiculously smashed everyday after work, JUST to wake up and do it all over again the next morning.

Understandable, I suppose. I would assume I would feel the same way had I not spent several years cooped up in smokey rooms playing Halo with roomfulls of kids. I was forced to adapt to my environment.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!
Making me feel like a giddy little school girl. (disturbingly strange)
But alas, I'll wind up getting it a month late or so due to my horrible work scheduele.
But I won't deny that the mention is greatly appreciated, writing a little yellow sticky as we speak.

There is a playable demo of this game on the demo disc that's enclosed in the new Official Xbox Magazine for November 2005.
So far it looks to be quite promising, and right from the start of the demo I felt like I was running in a virtual "Romero-world". From what the screen at the end of the demo said, this story is supposed to be a prequel to the original film. It was kinda freaky to see one or two of the bodybags (on top of these large bodybag piles) in the demo moving around like maggots or something.
If you don't own an Xbox, I'd be willing to bet that there will be a playable demo of this game inside the newest OPM magazine... I have a subscription to that magazine as well, so I should know for sure sometime soon.

Badasss Creep, thanks for the heads up! :D Let us know if you get the ps2 one too... I am kinda anti-demo because I don't wanna spoil it for myself and I feel like it's a tease... but I still would like to hear what you thought of it. How much "into the game" does the demo give you, anyway?
I'm the kinda gal that doesn't like to know ANYTHING about a movie when I watch it the first time around.

Eh, it's tough to tell... but to be honest, it doen't seem like that much of a "spoiler". It's just enough to give you a basic feel about the game... that's pretty much how I feel about demos in general.
