I got the new Official Xbox magazine in the mail yesterday (along with the new Official PlayStation magazine)... and both magazines had a playable demo for the upcoming MK: Shaolin Monks game, which
should be released in September.
All I have to report on it so far is that it was much better than I had anticipated it to be. The game should be brutally violent (in typical MK fashion), and it even has a co-op mode for a two player "attack".
The premise of the game is kinda like a spin-off of the original MK story... Shang Tsung - along with his evil cronies - Goro, Baraka, Kano, etc. escapes from his island tournament (before suffering utter defeat at the hands of Liu Kang) to the Netherrealm through some portal as the island is "falling apart" (no other way to describe it)... and then the story branches off into an adventure with Liu Kang and Kung Lao trying to escape his island with the "aid" of some of the Earthrealm's heroes like Raiden and Johnny Cage (who are the only two good guys that I have seen so far in the demo).
I dunno... like I said before, I was actually surprised at how decent this game has turned out so far. And this is coming from a guy that has played MK games since the first arcade game came out (like 1992), and nobody knew how to perform fatalities at first.
