Has anybody played this game? I am planning on buying it and want to know if it is worth it.

This forum is highly split. Half of us hate it the other half love it. I personally think it is a waste of game. But you will hear both sides. Just rent it first and see if you like it. An extra $6 is worth it IMO.

I'll agree with Adema here... rent it first. I rented it through Gamefly, and I can't say that I was impressed. The game definitely didn't stop me from playing San Andreas when it eventually came out... besides, I thought the driving & flying around in GTA:SA was MUCH better than that found in Mercenaries.

(And FYI... I rented it for my PS2. Not sure if there is much of a difference between the consoles, sorry.)

Mayeb it was me, but I liked the actual play of the game, but there was an AWFUL lot of load time, and not enough "action"!

that game is like GTA and like......Socom w/ more explosions(3rd person only). Anything u see u can blow the **** up. I thought it was the best Mercenary type game there is it'll be a tough fight to make a better one.....just so u know for ps2 and xbox it was number 7 outta the top 20 games about 6 months ago....Rent it first dude

I like this game its fun but gets old after u finish it. i love going to one of the factions and blowing the crap out of them.

this game was a great but after playing it for hours it started to repet iteself alittle.. If LucasArts woudl have jsut made it online even Co-Op i could see this game being a a great socom killer... you can see alot of socom3 in this game with the vehicals and stuff.. actually i wouldnt have been suprised if socom3 didnt bite alittle off this game.

Lucas art did a great job with this game and hope that the second series brings this great game online... becasue i know it will out play socom

sorry for the off topic here, but i saw someone talk about gta:sa and aren't they supposed to have a box set of all three sometime? just curious...

and i really dont like mercenaries that much. i figured it would be way different than it was.
