Taking Clans to a whole new level?

I got a few plans I would like to share with you all about the Clan system for online play on S3. They are good and I would like to take all your comments, both positive and negative, about my ideas and also your contributions are greatly appreciated.

First off, I see the age old problem of people overstocking their clan to the point of two or more divisions. I believe one clan should be able to have three divisions of 16 people. And it should all be within the same clan somewhat. Next to their clan tag (which an idea was put out for 5 characters which I love just adding that in) would be a small number (1) (2) or (3) if there were multiple divisions. To keep track of these divisions there would be pages for the clan. Players could scroll through to the different division pages. Now I understand people at Zipper or even here will think 16 is enough and I'm with you, but I'd much rather see this division plan than 3 forms of one clan.

The next idea is somewhat more of a realistic one. Not that the division idea isn't realistic more so I doubt Zipper will allow it. Clan matches. We all know how difficult it is to find clan matches online and most people end up using a 3rd party to set it up such as gamebattles. I believe it is time Zipper included a Ranked ladder for Clan matches. This would allow for a record to be in game for official clan matches and for room specific to finding and hosting matches. This would be great since only teams with certain players could get in to specific rooms. Such as 8 clan members would need ot be online to get into "Clan Matches: 8v8" or something along those lines. Instead of a Clan rank like we have now it would be a standings type thing. The thing that would count would be our record and kills in each game not your clanmembers personal rank. Basing a clan off of players personal ranks is wrong in my opinion.

Next part would be for more rooms to be added, which I somewhat already stated, for clan activities. Official Ladder rooms for clan matches such as, "Clan Matches: 8v8, Clan Matches: 6v6, Clan Matches: 4v4, Clan Matches 2v2," which would be used only for official clan matches for the standings. Then there would be like 2 rooms such as, "Clan Skirmishes 1 & 2," simply for practice with other available clans. I believe this idea would minimize server lag and help players find matches easier. Then there could be 2 tryout rooms just for tryouts.

Cutting away from clans for a moment I think it would be best if when lots of people were online that the game doesnt leave 45 U.S. East servers every night. Once a room becomes down to lets say 20 people those 20 people should be moved to another room.

Well those are my ideas for Servers, Clan Servers, and Clans in general. Message me back what you think.

Sorry I did not post this in the wishlist, but after a few posts no one would read this anymore. I think a few of these ideas are needed for clans and I want to here people's opinions on their ideas, you can't really do that in the wishlist. Anyway, those are my opinions on where we should be bringing clans. Please, everyone post theirs. :P

I agree with everything you said. I could have swore I thought of this earlier though... Seems you beat me to it.

I also think that clan leaders can have the ability to make a special room for clan practice in which they can change the triggers of the game to make it into an actual practice.

I like this idea. There are a few people in my clan that refuse to practice because they don't want to mess up their ranks. 95% of the clan is cool, so I don't wanna leave, but it's just annoying. I know that we could become better if people weren't worried about losing their precious rank points along the road of getting better. A practice trigger could eliminate that.

Haha I am sorry I had to post to this and point out some little glitches in your ideas. Please don’t get me wrong I agree with it all and there all very good ideas. Here what I find just LITTLE problems. . . . YOUR ideas about the "official" clan match rooms. Yes very good idea BUT! You only had all even numbers...if a clan has and odd number im sure they would still want to play in an "official" room not a skirmish. Now if there are rooms for 2 - 8.... Say there is 2 rooms for every number.....that’s going to add ALOT more servers, and if those 2 would happen to be filled, then there would be another room added or no one else could get in. This goes now to the lagg problem. More servers = more lagg...also More servers that are doing EXTRA work (aka scoring all these clan matches by the game) would make a lot more server problems im sure. But you know me I don’t know anything so correct me if im wrong about anything! Thanks

and like whn u make practice clan room u can go to radio wer eu can talk with the other team and stuff that would be cool

i think you should be able to:
Have a clan member/friend be playing in a game and you could be in the lobby and have a channel, such as "offense, defense, etc" but instead be "friends" or "clan" so you could talk to him while he was on. And you should be able to view you roster in game so u can know who is on.

Well the thing about the servers causing more lag...thats not really wat I was getting at. If the servers were more organized there would be less lag. The new servers should reduce some of the lag and if there was organization I'm sure it would be even better. The thing about Odd number clan matches is correct, but most matches now are 8s, 6s, 4s, and 2s. I wasn't trying to exclude them, just posting the most popular.

The practice idea I like a lot. I had trouble with clans that didn't want to practice either. A practice Server would be cool. I think I'll post a whole other topic on a server setup I think is awsome, because I got a lot of ideas floating around for that aswell. The thing is, our clan match servers now cause way more lag because everyone is sitting around and talking about finding any number of clan matches. If we keep the servers seperate according to clan numbers, then I believe we will eliminate some people for each server and therefore lag. The entire universe doesn't lag because of more servers unless theres is like 5000 U.S. Easts like there is in Socom II. It's whats happening in each individual server that causes that server and games therein to lag. Include that witht he game participant pings and host ping and you got a crap load of lag.

The skirmish servers would be what clan match servers are now. Only a little more organized because everyone who wants to war won't be in them.

i think it'd be cool if the clan leader could edit the clan tag as an option, you could also have have just normal letters, but you could draw it, like a gang sign

Hmm custom clan tags would be original, but if they extend the tags to 5 characters it will be much easier to be original anyway. I like your idea sfurkin, but how will it showup during games? Just as it does now in socom II or will it show up customized. I'm not sure if that will work for ingame but it's a cool idea.

This isn't GTA, a gang sign isn't needed IMO. I wouldn't mind if they upped the clan tag to 4 characters, but 5 is too much, I'm still happy with 3, but 5 is way too much and looks stupid.
