Ive got this ps2 slim version and has a build in online adaptor so i could play online..i was thinking of getting Socom 2 and playing online...so ok once i get the game and i start playing Socom 2 online without getting anything else right?

Well, you will need a ethernet cable if you don't already have one, to connect your PS2 to the internet. Other than that nope. Although a router would be useful if you had a computer, but it isn't required.
I got this router on the back of my computer and saids Ethernet on the back on it and theres a cable run through it and to my computer and that the what i need to plug into my Ps2 to make it able to play online?

You should also pick up a mic. It enhances the game quite a bit.
you also wont be able to play after hours,liberation, or last bastion...cuz you cant install the HDD in your new slim PS2. but i hear there is a memory card thats 1GB, so you do have some hope...
