NCAA Football 09
I'm VERY excited about NCAA Football 09, because EA Sports has finally listened to the fans' comments, and taken our feedback seriously. There are going to be many needed improvements to this year's game. It'll be hard to find a bigger fan of the NCAA Football series than me, but I've been disappointed about a few things over the past few years. I've been getting the game every year since 1998, and I always go to the midnight release for it, so believe me when I say that I'm hardcore about this game.
Gamerosters.com is a site that puts in all the names of EVERY player on the game, then sells the roster file for you to have every team's roster with the real names in. They released a preview of the game, listing all the details about this year's game. I'm so excited about all of the improvements, because there's a lot of them, and most of them are things I wanted to see improved from previous years. And I'm very relieved to see that the PS3 version will also be running at 60 FPS, as opposed to last year's 30 FPS. But here's the list of what's to be expected from NCAA 09...
Wide Open Offense:
- Bigger holes, cutback lanes, and open receivers, game feels more wide open than ever before
- Directional pump fake on the R stick
- New college specific tackling engine
Home of the 12th Man:
- Pre-play confusion and difficulty making adjustments when on the road against tough teams
- All new toughest places to play with dynamic rankings
College Atmosphere & Pageantry:
- All-new Dynamic Crowd System
- College sidelines are packed with additional players, mascots, cheerleaders, and more
- All-new authentic fields with new textures, lighting, and field degradation
- New college player models, including more than 50 alternate uniforms
- User Customizable Stadium Sounds & Music
- Breakaway crowd reactions
Depth and Innovation:
- Improved recruiting system in Dynasty mode highlighting ease and accessibility
- Online Dynasty for up to 12 people
- New post game presentation and play by play commentary
- 1-4 player offline co-op
- Return missed field goals
- Bluff your play art to confuse opponents
- Formation audibles
- Smart routes
- Bobble catches
- Better passing control
- Post play continuation
- All-New Mini Games
- Random play selection in practice mode
- Quick replay
- CPU vs. CPU (watch mode)
- Smooth 60 FPS on PS3
- Even teams option in play now

I know for a fact I'm not going to be picking this game up. I'm also on the fence with Madden 09 right now as well. Only EA sports game that I'll probably be getting is NHL 09, but only because I absolutely LOVE hockey. I hope they finally make a well thought out hockey game with all the features they left out in 08.

NCAA Football 07 & 08 was pretty terrible. But I'm the way with college football the way you are with hockey... I love it so much that I get it every year simply because it's college football. But in all the years I've played it, I've never heard one to be so promising as this year's. The things they're improving are LONG overdue.
The things I'm most excited about are the wide open game-play, the new dynamic crowd system with better crowd reactions, alternate uniforms are back, better looking fields and stadiums, user-customizable stadium sounds and music, better recruiting in dynasty mode, new post game presentation and play-by-play commentary, better passing control, and 60 FPS on PS3... This is very promising, because this is all stuff I've been wanting improved from last year's game.

It's gonna be so sweet getting to play a dynasty with my friends online. I'll probably be doing a three-team dynasty with myself, my brother, and my friend. I can't wait.

Yeah. Every year gamerosters.com puts the names in of every player on the game, and they sell you the file. They usually have it completed VERY shortly after the game comes out. I bought the file from them last year for the first time, and was blown away at the fact that EVERY player on the game had his real name, instead of "QB #12, HB #22, WR #80," etc.
If you have a PS3, you can actually just download the file from their website, put it on a jump drive, and then put it from there onto your PS3. If you have an Xbox 360, however, your only option is to either mail them a memory card and have them put the roster file on there, or purchase a brand new memory card from them with the roster already on it. I have a PS3, so I downloaded it from the site onto a jump drive. It cost a little under $10. But it's a good bit more expensive if you have an Xbox 360, and have to do it by memory card. I'll be getting the roster file the first day they release it, cause it was so awesome last year, having all the players names on there.

That's why I usually wait a few years in between releases. I jumped from Madden 03 to Madden 06. I thought it was amazing. Except I really liked Madden 08, so I'll rent Madden 09 and if it's like 08 in any way, I'll probably end up getting it.
