I do that all of the time. It's amazing how many people actually get pissed off like it actually effects them or something.

Ok guys... Helicopters. Earlier today I was playing a ground war against an enemy who were simply superb... I was playing my best and still only had even kills to deaths, there were endless UAVs and airstrikes for them and my team was just plain crap.

Then the helicopters came, at least 3 of them. And they fired at me, me and only me. I know it sounds neurotic but they just blasted me to pieces and then hovered so as to do it again, the vindictive bastards. And while it has never been that bad before, I find the helicopters just love it to shoot me a whole lot more than anyone else. They nearly always shoot at me first when they arrive, and one followed me for well over a minute on Strike once, from cover to cover it just kept shooting at me until it finally got a kill.

So how do they work, what makes them target specific people? Do they aim for the guys at the top of the team, or just whoever is convenient?

I think the helicopters just follow the action really. I doubt they target specific players, just the ones who are too slow to get to cover.

If a helicopter is out, I make sure I am always within a few steps of cover, even if its only a dumpster or something. The problem I usually have is I don't realise my head is sticking over the top of my cover and I get hit by the helicopter or a sniper.

I hate it when people complain about the chopper been out, but don't do anything to take it down. I am usually the guy who ends up taking it down. You are better using an LMG rather than an RPG.

What IW should have done is make it possible to take out the pilot or target specific parts of the engine. This would make it easier to take out, but still quite difficult all the same. Once the chopper is down, there should be a cooling off period/refuel period. On games like Countdown when 3 people call in a chopper in a row, it gets a bit annoying.

The worst thing I have seen from an airstrike came a few days ago. 2 players must have sent the airstrike in at exactly the same time and 4 jets came in from 2 separate directions. Good job it wasn't 3 from each. They still missed me.

I agree that you should be able to snipe out the helicopter pilot especially since its a major part of the single player game. (you do it twice...kinda)

Also I do think that helicopters do focus on the best player on the team but also go where ever the action is and where people are lit up by the UAV. I kinda think the a UAV does help the helicopter.

The chopper's don't follow the action, they have set paths. If you play a map enough with choppers, you'll notice this.
