To be honest, I think the best chance for getting into the beta would be to register at the PS Forums. I'm not promoting them or anything, but it looks like that will be the best bet. Some may not agree, but the Socom community is pretty large over there. Plus, it's the only site that has direct contact with Sony/SS reps.

I think phase two is something along the lines of self-promotion, in which you nominate yourself and state your case as to why you should be in the beta. Don't quote me on that, although I'm pretty sure that's how it will happen. And yes, to do so, you must be a member of the site.
