PS3 owns the 360! Here's proof!

I had a 360 in the US and I have a PS3 here. I will admit now, If I was still in the US I wouldn't have bought a PS3. I was happy with my 360, why buy a different console?

I got a PS3 here because it was a change from the 360 and I had an open opportunity to get one. I wouldn't have got it if I already had a 360.

Obviously each console has pro's and con's. To me, the 360 has more pro's but the con's of the 360 are much more serious than the ones on the PS3.

The PS3 never really had an overheating problem, yes it gets hot, but seems to cope pretty well. You never really hear of a PS3 equivalent of the RROD, so that's got to be a plus. I realise that all consoles have teething problems, but the 360 was like an alligator with pyrea for quite a while.

I've played both the PS3 and 360, and the 360 is by far the more superior system in my opinion. You have so much more stuff you can do on the 360 whilst the PS3 has the best graphics and a powerful system.

It's pretty funny that I'm getting my info from articles written by professionals in the video game industry, yet everyone here can only bring their opinion. I'm sharing my opinion, but I'm backing it up with strong facts, backed by articles written by people who know what they're talking about.

I'm not saying that the 360 is a horrible system. I'm just saying that OVERALL, it's not up to par with the PS3. Of course, there are things about the 360 that are better than the PS3. And yes, the 360 did own the PS3 LAST YEAR in 2007. But no matter what aspect you look at, the PS3 has become the better system in 2008. It has beaten the 360 in sales since January, and the PS3 also has a MUCH better game lineup in 2008. The 360 has two heavy-hitters coming out this year... Gears of War 2 and Fable 2. THAT'S IT! PS3 has Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, Grand Turismo 5, Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2, Haze, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM Confrontation, and (probably in 2009) Final Fantasy XIII and God of War 3. Also, Bioshock 2 will most likely also be on PS3. NOBODY in here can honestly tell me that 360 has a better game lineup this year.

As far as the systems themselves, the 360 has some good perks, but it can't beat the PS3. It's a fact, not my opinion, that the PS3 is more powerful and more capable than the 360. And the hardware issues that the 360 has been having contributes GREATLY to making the 360 the lesser system. It was built poorly. They even had an anonymous Microsoft employee who came out and admitted it, that Microsoft threw the system together too quickly to beat Sony to the market.

And as far as being more than a gaming system, PS3 wins easily. You can do SO much more on the PS3 as a multi-media machine. And once again, BlueRay format wins, HD-DVD format is dead. Sony dealt a HUGE blow to Microsoft on that one.

I'll be the first to admit that Xbox Live rocks, and the whole online networking is very good. However, it costs money. Playstation network is free. You can make the argument that Playstation Network is inferior to Xbox Live, and you would be correct AS OF NOW. But the new Playstation store, the upcoming in-game Cross Media Bar, and Playstation Home will put Playstation Network up to par with Xbox Live (if not better).

So... If you prefer the Xbox 360, good for you. But I'm just making the argument that the PS3 is better. Everyone who is making their argument on here is simply sharing their opinions without backing them with strong facts. You may not like my opinions, but I back them with strong facts, which is the right way to make an argument. And some of you DO make valid points about the strengths of the Xbox 360, but they're not strong enough to prove the 360 to be better than the PS3 AS A WHOLE. So I'm willing to talk to you if you can back up what you're saying with facts. But just stating that the 360 is better is weak. Anyway, I'm not here to be a jerk, or to put down on anyone. I'm just here to make an argument. And I can back up my opinion with very strong facts that prove the PS3 as the better system.

The point is that games make a system. And it's certainly your opinion, not a fact, that the PS3 has a better lineup. I for one couldn't care less about MGS4, GT5, Motorstorm, Killzone, Socom and FFXIII. And I only have a passing interest in LBP. I'm more excited about Gears 2 and Fable 2 than the entire PS3 list put together.

As for the rest of your argument, sure, it had better be a more powerful system, given that it's double the price of a 360. But does everyone want all the extra bells and whistles, when the games look the same as a 360? No, and that's why the price was so ridiculously high and why it hasn't sold as well as Sony wanted.

That's a tired excuse. Last time I played online on the PS3 network and many times before , when I actually could log on Error Code free a majority of the online players I saw were cheats and hacks. Not to mention the major mistake of not including an exclusive Mic for the PS3. How come half the people on Playstation Network don't have Mics ????? If that's what free gets me they can keep it. Xbox Live had their ducks in a row loooooong before the PS3 has, and still has some major polishing to do.

A video game professional? Seriously. Perhaps you should look at the name of this website - VIDEO GAME FORUMS. A lot of us have been playing video games long enough to know what we're talking about. I've played for nearly 18 years myself. Just because something is in an article doesn't mean it's a fact. Actually, it's more than likely what you're providing is just the "video game professionals" opinions.

Honestly, I may get only 2 of those PS3 games you listed. God of War and Socom. The other ones I've either never heard of or didn't like previous installments.

You said in the first paragraph of your post that no one but you is backing up what they're saying. I'd like to see five or more reliable sources saying the PS3 is more powerful.

And actually, i would agree that the PS3 has more capabilities than the 360, but it's just a matter of Sony and developers bringing them out. Still, give me some sources so you can stop contradicting yourself.

I do believe that when Microsoft first release the original Xbox, that Xbox Live came with the in-game XMB. I'm not 100% positive on this since I never owned the system.

Now, take a look at this picture and then this one. Funny how the new PS Store look is designed exactly like Xbox Live Marketplace.

And as I said before, I'll probably rarely use Home. I'd much rather talk with random people while playing a game online that sitting on my *** looking at a 3-dimensional tree.

From what I've read, it's more based on experience with both systems. To this point, more people seem to prefer the 360 over the PS3. I'll even come back in here tonight after I get my 360 and post my inital reaction to the 360 vs. my initial reaction to the PS3.

No, you back it up with opinions of so called "video game professionals." Personally, I would call a video game professional a 40-year-old guy with a beer belly living in his parent's basement, only coming up for necessities.

Indeed. I'm a 19-year-old college student, but I make $8.50 an hour, so I'll get $50 is gross pay a night. Xbox Live is not ridiculously expensive, assuming they pay the year for $50 and not renew every month or 3 months.

The 360 has Windows Media Center. You can stream radio stations, live TV and recorded TV(if you have a TV tuner card), your music, pics movies, you can even select sports players from ANY professional sport to track their stats.

So the 360 wins on that one.
