Why would they delay a console just because 1 feature of a controller can't be added? That's just financial suicide.
The time between the release of the PS2 and release of the PS3 was pretty long, I doubt they could have delayed it anymore without getting behind on next-gen technology.

its still not an excuse. If they needed more time they shouldve done so(even tho that would have totally killed them in this gen war).I dont want to be playing the dualshock5 10 years from now.Or at least cut us a break on the pricing at least.

Like I said, why would they sacrifice their position in the next-gen era just because a select group of people want a new controller?
When everyone saw the boomerang they basically laughed in Sony's face. Sony then revealed the classic PS controller design and everyone was happy. Now, 1 year down the line after release, people are complaining again.
I don't agree with the way they are making us pay more for a controller not everyone wants, but you wanted rumble, you got rumble.

well coming out a year late already sacrificed thier position, they wouldnt have needed more time if they just made a good controller to begin with. Ok so the boomerang failed, try again(im sure they had plenty of scrapped models they could work from).Of course everyone was happy they didnt use that model, but i was like WTF?! another dualshock? I kinda felt like they were purposely gipping us off becuse They failed to come up with a next gen controller. Whats the point in regurgitating the same controller over and over again, with ridiculous pricing, and calling it "next gen"?
the PS button and six axis would have been great if they hadnt have stolen the ideas at the last minute and actually put some time into properly implementing them.

Excuse my ignorance, I haven't played the PS3 yet. But is the "PS button" like the guide button on the 360?

Yes, yes it is.
It's just another thing they took from the 360

kind of, like you can turn the box and controller off and on, go back to the menu, or mess witht he controller settings. It doesnt do half as much as the xbox guide button, but i wont complain becuse it was tacked on at the last minute.

It doesn't do half as much as the 360 button because the in-game XMB hasn't been put in there yet.
Once the XMB is in there, I will serve exactly the same way as the 360 button, just obviously have a different menu setup.
Leaving out the in-game XMB was the biggest mistake Sony made software-wise. The heat the console throws out was the biggest hardware mistake.
PS: There is a rumour going around that there will be a 360 controller with motion sensitive crap in it, don't know how legit it is or even if it is still circulating but hows that for stealing technology?

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but isn't the whole point in keeping the console cool getting rid of the heat on the inside? Shame on them for making something that actually gets the air OUT!
I don't get how you people ***** about Sony's controller not changing much if any from last gen to this gen when the XBOX controller barely changed as well. If your going to *****, do it for both consoles so you being a fanboy isn't quite as apparent.

Even as that may be, its still not in there, and was not meant to b that way from the beginning. Thats the reason it doesnt do initially as much as the guide button.
the motion controller will most probably be a remote of some sort, of "scene it" proportions.

Are you kidding me?! there were alot of changes made to the xbox controller. They took out the useless memory card ports, removed the crappy white and black buttons, added two shoulder bumpers along with the guide button. Made it alot more ergonomic and got rid of the ripcord and made the wired controllers compatible with the pc out the box. For the ps3, they pretty much gave us the exact same controller with 2 half assed gimmicks as a last resort that were only added in to justify keeping the $600 pricetag. It has nothing to do with being a fanboy as i have qualms with both controllers and neither is perfect, but we just happened to be talking about the ps3 controller here so calm down.
P.S The dualshock 3 still feels like a fisher price toy.
