Yeah, I know what you mean. I never picture XBOX being at the top of the pack back. If you would have told that back in 2004, I would have said you were crazy.

Uncharted would be one game that falls in this category.

i just picked up two today, but they are still too light compared to the dualshock 2, wich isnt that much of a big deal but its annoying. Now ok the controllers have rumble, but just when are the going to give us a NEW design. Sure it works, and is even proven, but comon its 2008, cant they make somthing better?

Huh? In my opinion, there is nothing better than this current design. Its what I'm used to, its what my hands like, its what I completely and utterly dominate with. Nuff said.

The PS1/PS2/PS3 controller design I think is beastly.

It works perfect for every type of game. 360's controller has the upper hand on FPS games, but it sucks *** for a lot of other stuff. I preffer a more universal controller such as the Dualshock.

I prefer the 360 controller over the DS3, I think it's a lot more comfortable and well designed, but I do prefer the DS3 for certain games, like fighting games. I do think it's in need of an update, though.

yea the 360s thumbpad is horrible and the abxy buttons are alittle to thick.

i kno the ps3 controller is fine as it is, but somtimes its just time for a change. Im pretty sure they can come up with somthing even better than that dont you think? especially seeing how the playstations price dramatically increases with each successor. Its like 600 dollars, and i got a daulshock again?

Well they tried to come up with a better controller and suffered an epic fail in the form of the boomerang prototype.

Playstation controllers are the best and most versatile (regarding games they suit) so why fix what isn't broken?

The only reason rumble wasn't in the SixAxis from day 1 was because of the lawsuit. Sony just want to get rumble into their controllers for the loyal PS gamers who love the classic PS controller we have now. They can concentrate on developing a whole new design now the DS3 is done and dusted.

They settle their lawsuit, then go into developing a new controller for a year, then roll it out. Where is the sense in that when they can (and have) just stick rumble in the SixAxis?

If they wanted to do that they should have settled the lawsuit before the PS3 was released. Don't be hoodwinked into thinking Sony love you. The bottom line is they didn't want to settle because they didn't want to pay out. Don't forget they were telling people that rumble was 'last gen' technology about a year ago. They've only created DS3 because people were so dissatisfied with the current sixaxis, and to try and get people to buy a) new pads or b) a PS3, when they wouldn't before because of the lack of rumble. It's not about rewarding loyalty or anything like that, it's about the money.
